good post... makes a change compared to your usual nonsence

How does a newbie with 3 posts know what someone has posted previously  ???  :D

There is a few new recent posters who seem very informed about the board and posters .

antis?  ???  last time i checked, we're all Liverpool fans. just because we dont follow your God doesnt make us an anti.

Same goes for the ones who don't want Roy as manager . Alot of fans have been going the match for 30years like myself . We know when a manager isn't up to it and we know when we are getting the p1ss taken out of us by that manager . He needs to do the decent thing and F.UCK RIGHT OFF.

.
Wow 12 posts in 6 years,

anybody would think you were a long forgotten alter ego,

who just shows up to bump up the poll.

I support LFC not rafa benitezzzzzzz
.

Sorry to disappoint you , but i wanted Benitez out aswell . i never mentioned Benitez , why would i ? You seem to assume that if i think owl face is a :censored: manager i automatically support  Benitez. Wrong i'm afraid , although i'd have Benitez back in a shot over this clown , he lost the players and and lost the plot last season , so we needed a change . We did not need some journeyman no nothing ,done nothing has been .

So has rafa been sacked yet by Inter, can't be long now. To be honest I am neither happy or sad about that but I think it does aprrove a lot of anti right, in that rafa really isn't that great a manager.
I do agree that he gave us some great moments though, especially the "facts" rant, priceless.  :D
No but seriosuly he was a good manager but he way he is idolised still by some fans is really quite weird.

The guy is a good manager, even great managers can take the wrong job, look at Brian Clough at Leeds Utd or Kenny taking the Newcastle job! Sometimes the manager just doesnt fit, now I have no idea if thats whats going on at Inter but they have a quality sqaud there and expect them to fully turn it around with or without Benitez at the helm. A manager doesnt win 2 La Liga Tiltes with an unfancied side and a Champions League with an even more unfancied side if he doesnt have a bit of class about him. The willingness to take his recent run at Inter and beat the other side across the head with it while ignoring those facts by some of you is just low. Please stop - Its not a competition

PS When someone types something along the lines of "I wanted Rafa to do well at Inter but......" then goes into a 3 paragraph tirade of I told you so's then they clearly didnt want Rafa to do well. Sorry but you cant absolve yourself of responsibility of your comments just put putting that little diddy in front of what you have to say - you are still posting something argumentative.  Both sides on here should adopt a screening process before they strike that post button. Read back what you type, decide if your opinion holds any weight or is just a shot at the other side and if its the latter just dont f*cking post it. Don't you think you're being a bit unfair? They played 70-odd games last season then ha the World Cup. It's obvious to anyone who watched them last season and this that their big players are knackered. Not to mention half of them have been out through injury. I can't believe so many people hate Rafa - he's a legend in my eyes and I'd have him back in a heartbeat. That said, Roy is our boss now and although he's having a tough time of it he deserves backing.

Rafa is a great manager but nothing to do with Liverpool anymore and as such, this thread should be deleted or moved at least.

Lets focus on Roy and our own team.

So I assume you don't find your post antagonistic then???
In fairness it's not the worst but it's still having a bit of a dig only at one side isn't it?

So I guess you were happy with how we played last season then? How many other excuses do you have prepared for Rafa, I guess fairly soon it will be the Inter Milan owners fault eh?

Not really, the example I posted was focused on:

To be honest I am neither happy or sad about that but I think it does aprrove a lot of anti right,

not a personal attack man, its just there have been 4-5 posts phrased like that that in fairness have been alot more longwinded and derogatory than your statement.

It think its only fair to give you an insight on my view on Rafa since perhaps I have sided more with that group in the last month or two. Two be clear I am absolutely not in the bring back Rafa club, he had his time and he went probably 3 months too late to change our fortunes last season because when we lost to Reading at Anfield in the cup we were done as a force end of story. Rafa in my opinion had become to involved in the politics around the club and though he cannot in all fairness be faulted for that at that time it was clear in my eyes that with H&G in the boardroom Benitez could no longer give his total energies to Liverpool FC and that his leaving was the only way both parties could return to greatness.

Now here is where my problems with the "Antis" points of view begin to emerge

1. To blame all our current troubles in Benitez making such comments as "he left us with no squad and average players" is nonsense. We know why top players were not purchased, and we know who was pulling the pursestrings. We are also know we worked on a sell to buy policy. £8m net spend in 4 seasons says it all in that department. I was up in arms about some of our signings as well (G Johnson for £17m in particular) but all managers sign just as many flops as they do world beaters

2. His silly games cost us the title. His "facts" rant has been a stick used to beat the man with contantly by some of you guys. Possibly because its such a media friendly soundbite its easy to forget that in time between us battering Newcastle and our lifeless display against Stoke another rather more significant thing happened to our player of the year that season. Gerrard got arrested and spent the next month playing like a bag of rats. Against a tide of negative press for our captain couldnt it be assumed that his speech was an attempt to take some of the spotlight off his clearly suffering captain? When was the last time this was mentioned on here? Ever?

3.That the pros attacking Roy means that that you should attack Benitez as retaliation. If as a fan you dont believe the Liverpool manager is up to the job that is your God given right to say so. I didnt for a second want Roy Hodgson given the Liverpool job, and at times he has made some horrible, horrible decisions regarding tactics and line ups as well as some releasing some rather unfortunate statements to the media, although I dont for a second believe these have been anywhere near the vitriol that some "pros" would have you believe but heres the kicker - SO DID RAFA! Rememebr the look of sheer implausability from Gerrard last year when Torres was dragged off against Birmingham with 20mins left with the score tied and not a bit of match winning quality on the bench? That was every bit as daft as anything Roy could come up with this year. Anyway regardless of my opinion I would cheer them and the side every time they walked out on the pitch

4. THE FACTS. Under Benitez we were a big club. FACT. ranked number 1 in Europe and making the last 4 of the CL on a regular basis. We may not have won the league, but we came damn close - but we did win the biggest club competition in world football in what was the greatest night any person could hope to experience following a sports team. For this I will always rememeber him with fondness. For the unprecedented step of calling into a bar to sit with fans after the Leverkusen game, that I will always remember fondly too. For destroying the two sides widely regarded to be "the biggest clubs in the world" IN THE SPACE OF 4 F*CKING DAYS! That I will also always treasure

Its when I see so many of you guys just ignore all these great things so you can take another little pointless shot in a feud that makes no sense against people that want the same things as you that I get upset, and Im sure there are other guys on this forum who dont fall into this anti/pro camp that are as frustrated as I am having to trawl through page after page of back and forth, tit for tat arguments that drag his name, his record or his signings through the mud. I dont like to see Hodgson called horrible names either (though the owl thing is funny, he does look like one) and I really hate seeing when we put a great performance or result together for the pros to give it "but the opposition was poor" or the antis to give it the "we wont see such and such in this thread tonight"

Ive alot Ive missed in this post that Ive forgotten in the last hour, between my chest infection, my computer repeatedly posting this post without it being finished for no reason I can detect except Alien Invasion and my phone going evry 5mins. The summary is can we please get back to discussing football? This place was a zillion times more fun when we did that.

Well I totally agree that our current problems are not all rafa's fault but he has to share some blame, and it is the people who dig their heads in the sand and refuse to believe this who wind me up. I also abhore the hypocrisy that it's perfectly ok to take the p1ss out of the current manager but you are the devil if you say one bad thing about our past manager. While Rafa was manager I'm willing to bet that people were not allowed to say the things that are being said of Hodgson, am I right?

Of course he has to be held accountable for bad selections, transfers and such and I think there was and still is an overdefensiveness by many who believed he was the only one in the corridors of power trying to do what was best for the club when the previous owners were at the helm. I think the actions of Broughton and Co in the sale of the club have proved that he wasnt alone but I think the reason that is still the case on here is that the whole Us vs Them Pro/Anti saga has overtaken the owners as the no 1 priority since NESV came in rather than what should be the talking point again -  any actual football debate about Liverpool Football Club.

One more thing - what relevance does the Rafa Benitez thread have to Liverpool football club? Surely its for those who want to discuss how hes going at Inter. Too many times it has been a place for far too many people on here to come in and poke the bear with no other intention than either winding people up or saying "I told you so." The Hodgson thread sadly has alot of that too but the difference is when he is LFC boss and we put on a stinker against a team we should flatten then all of us as supporters have every right to b*tch about him. What doesnt do anyone any favours is someone showing up in a match thread or the RH thread chirping "I said he wasnt good enough and look." If you said you didnt think he was the solution to our problems, fair enough but as soon as he walks onto the touchline he should have our 100% support - no fan should ever use a bad result as a way to legitimize their opinion over someone elses because there is no benefit in it and I for one will never take any pride in us not performing so the man has my complete support until the day he leaves and I am absolutely sure this is the view of everyone on here because we all want the same thing in the long run - a winning Liverpool side.
