mate not even a single headline on today's paper have mentioned Lucas having a good game, it was all about Torres' brilliant goals (deserved) and gerrard's energetic display

I think having Gerrard in the engine room with him complements him nicely and he's going from strength to strength at the moment. As someone's said above, the key now is to cement it all with some consistency over a run of games. Nice on Lucas lad.

no really sure Poulsen has anything to do with Lucas playing well....

no, seriously. there were a couple of moments when he'd put his foot on the ball, turn and look for the correct attacking pass, pretty much dictating the tempo of a particular passage of play. and a couple of moments when he'd float a nice ball out to the flanks. and then a couple of moments more when he'd find a clever way to make space for himself if he received the ball under pressure. to me - and maybe only to me - it looked very much like the way that alonso used to play from the centre of the park.

I'm not sure I'd consider much of his play alongside Masch particularly eye-catching myself, Bav. I'm thrilled he's playing well of late, I think he looks a much better player when partnered with Stevie but suggesting he's been quality since the 4-1 win at OT is, well, OTT.

Wasn't saying he has been quality since but he played well that day, played his part. He hasn't been consistent but the number of games where people have come away saying 'he played well' has been on the up and up since.
He has been steadily improving and deserves some praise.
Read somewhere he won 64% of tackles against Chelsea. Stick that up yerOptajoe!
