I thought that as well mate, did you see that video that Nan posted in the Lucas thread?

just watched it Reg... good stuff by Lucas and I'm his biggest critic.

I remember one time a member on here posted a clip of lucas on duty with brazil to defend the fact that that he only passes sideways and backwards and the clip actually showed him doing just that, passing sideways and backwards  .

But this clip really shows how he has improved. He was passing forwards, he was running with the ball (he was initiating counter attacks!) he was getting the ball off opposition players, he was challenging the ball in the air!

Great improvement Lucas... keep it up and you'll be the next mascherano...

P.S. I was correct in the assessment that Lucas will become a good DM rather than an AM. What he's doing right now shows that.

P.P.S. "Poulsen, bench... bench, Poulsen"

Seen that Ben and was made up with it,

There is one thing you can say about Lucas though in the past as well as now is the lad has always tried. sometimes it hasnt worked out for him but noone can deny he dosnt have a go when hes on that pitch, Thats what ive always liked about him, the stick he got sometimes was immence but the lad just got his head down , and concentrated on improving his game, he even brought his own mate over from Brazil to beef him up a bit, im over the moon for him and he derserves all the plaudits hes getting ,  When you looked at Mascheranos game and how much ground he coverd and always seemed to be there biting , and yes he could play a ball an all, Well Lucas is starting to play similar imo.

He had played a great game indeed. Quite eye catching and won a lot of 50/50 ball cleanly. Really hope he can continue to play at this level. Who knows, maybe this is the real lucas afterall. He seems different than the previous Lucas. He is more confident and now able to hold on the ball instead of get rid right away. Less 5 yard passes and he need to continue to be smart since he is still too light weight to become a dominant DM. Hopefully, his smartness can overcome his shortcoming.

"El diván del fútbol" Which would be something like the Football Sofa, has singled out Lucas' excellent game and has titled "The Lucas step up this video" of Lucas' game.

I thought you might want to have a look, it's all his relevant actions in the game

Which just goes to show that (most) players are actually quite normal young persons as well using social networks, playing computer games, and in general using the internet a lot like every other person. My point being that there's actually quite a good chance that some also visit sites like this to read what people have to say about them (ie some people should talk a bit nicer about some of our players on here). Right, that's todays lesson about internet ethics for everyone then  :D

Never used twitter, so a question to those that have.

Is there anything to stop anyone (for instance a member of an internet forum) going on there and giving themselves a name such as "Babel" "Lucas" or "Gerrard ?.

???

Lucas has improved a hell of a lot this season, I think he's another player who has emerged from under the shadow of Rafa.

Is that the same Rafa that was often lambasted for including him in the first team ...but persisted nevertheless believing the Lad had real ability ........

Yes, that's the one. Rafa did have faith in Lucas and as a result we are now reaping the benefit.

The other key thing for me is his role in CM - not siting alongside another deep midfielder but in an advanced role where he can get more involved - his best position!!
