ROY HODGSON - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Well done Roy!! Brilliant result today against a team that had conceded three goals all season before today and if it hadn't been for Cech we would have doubled that today! Gradually we are beginning to put the past behind us which was ironically ruined by American's and is currently being rectified by them. What a strange world we live in.

Job well done Roy, I gues there is some hope in you. Keep this up and you'll get full support of the fans. Now, what's this I hear about him not getting any money in January?

Reading this topic is boring now. Well done roy keep it up pish!

Like hes on a school report or something and one bad moment hes out. The reason we didnt play like this early on is it takes time to gel and sort out your formations, set-pieces etc.

Id rather have a tough time at beginning than a bed of roses start. IT will make the team and manager better for it. Win the next 3 games and then we will be onto something. January comes along and for once we can strenghten the sqaud.

What im liking so early on is the use of our youngsters. Whether he has to or not. It bodes well for the future.

Cmon you red men

Great point

Take your spoon out of the pot just for once.

Benny's made a valid point. I don't see it as a dig at the manager but the final selection was (imo) as much a happy accident as it was the "tactical genius" that some seem so eager to credit.

Would Roy have played Kelly if Johnson was fit, would Skrtle have got the nod over Soto ? , who knows ? maybe, maybe not .

The manager did well, the team did well and the forum would probably do a lot better if some of us weren't always so obsessed with trying to score points over one and another.

Who said Hodgson was a genius?
He did his job which is to manage the team
Its a bit churlish to make out we won by accident dont you think?
Whats funny is that some people are loathe to give the man credit but make out that theyre "just making an observation"
Anyway. No offence to old GYBS. He actually does make me smile

Gerrard single handedly won the match (or handidly if you prefer)! Don't talk nonsense. Hodgson had the guts to play a bunch of kids and players coming back from injury. He realised that they were up against it and brought Gerrard on for the second half. Benitez would still have been scratching his fkg head at 71 minutes wondering what to do when we were 3-0 down! I think you will also find that the second goal was created by an incredibly gutsy and determined run by Johnson. The third goal was down to some very quick thinking by Lucas. Yes Gerrard scored an impressive hat-trick but he did not do it single handedly.

As I've said before try following Netball because you haven't got a fkg clue about football. All you do is moan and whinge. It's depressing and ruins this forum. It's largely down to the likes of you that some of the quality posters on this forum have moved on.

I find it hilarious that someone can manufacture such a hypothetical statement then use it as as a fact to insult someone with.

Im going to use the same method as you to put my point across. Lets see how well I do

"I think the Newkit Forum would be a far better place of Devaney was hit by a truck"

You see it still has the totally baseless opinion that has no evidence whatsoever to back it up, and its also insults you. Yours is still better though you pretentious tool

Gees mate - you seem to be spending a lot of time defending Ciggy - is there something we should know about - I seem to have touched a nerve!

I won't go so far as to ask her for an apology for her anti Hodgson rhetoric. That would be a complete waste of time and completely lacking in class a little like your crass and utterly meaningless response.

Great result today. Let's move on.

"Churlish" ?

Who said we won by accident ?

Seems clear to me that the only "accident" mentioned was the starting 11.
