ROY HODGSON - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I know I may well get jumped on for saying this but Hodgson had no choice but to play Kelly with the Greek and Johnson both being unable to play - injuries played out well for us today so more fortunate as opposed to genuis selection

yes you should be jumped on! It still showed faith in the kid to start him rather than playing Wilson at CB and moving Carra to RB

The choice was a no brained - Wilson has played once this season so it was a straight choice .

Benny makes a fair point, his hands were tied to an extent Yes ok he did show faith to start him at RB but he has played there before hasn't he? Didn't he play at LB also against Lyon last season?

Anyway the important thing is that he impressed, and against a top team like Chelsea that's saying something.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

Delighted we got a result and the manager deserves the credit for the tactics he used against Chelsea ...the defending and closing down was almost regimental ..... Well done to the manager and the players .....Chelsea were outplayed out muscled and finally  strategically out thought... and I have never seen a victory over Chelsea which was made to look so comfortable ....so the  plaudits belong with the manager as well as the players

I'm still unsure as to whether hodgson is the guy for the job long term but i've got to give him credit today. Thought we were excellent. It begs the question though as to why we were wso dire earlier this season against the so called lesser teams. We know what we can do but we just haven't produced.

By the way, the Premiership is not the best league in the world by any means whatsoever. Chelsea are supposedly the best team in the League and I thought they were woeful. Blackpool offered more of an attacking threat than them.

Haha in fairness St Mick they were missing their 3 most influencial players for the 1st 45mins. Though you could easily say that about us for the 1st 8 games :D

They reported pre-match that he had been ill and was suffering from a fever.

The only prescription was more Nando (I used that already today but I love Will Ferrell :D )
