Roy has a better squad than he had at Fulham Rafa spent 10 million a season. The proof is there in the accounts.

We are not talking about Fulham, we are talking about Liverpool.

The gutter press love seeing Liverpool fall on its backside.

And Rafa couldnt complain. He was left with options. Rafa was left with a squad he could tinker with. Rafa was left with wingers, midfielders, defenders and strikers. There is a clear difference to what Rafa was left with compared to Roy.

What Rafa left was a shambles, and defend him as you will, Roy is right to criticise what he has been left with, considering the money spent.

you are having a laugh...

Do you want me to compare what Rafa was being left with to what Roy was being left with?

despite the current run of results, and being above the relegation zone and all, i still feel very strongly about roy not being the right person to guide us through the season.

true, the side has improved a little starting from the blackburn game but that is still not the level that liverpool should play. even a win against chelsea wouldnt sway my opinion. because if we're being real here, we're more likely to lose against chelsea -  than to grind out a victory with a lucky goal. and even then, i struggle to see that happening.

a fixture against chelsea has become one of the more passionate fixtures every season. not as intense as the hatred we have for the mancs, and certainly not on the level with the feelings we have associated with everton, but liverpool vs chelsea just has this electric feel that we dont really share with any other club apart from the mancs and the bluenoses.

i know we play napoli next, but to tell the truth i'm getting a little bit sick thinking of the games we're going to have this week. napoli, then chelsea. a good coach, nevermind great, should inspire and instill confidence in not just the team but the fans as well. i do not have this feeling with hodgson, and it might be unfair, but i dont think there is anything else he can do to change that.

unless he magically directs the team to play at the very least, respectable football, and learns what and when to say things.

but we all know that is not going to happen.

and i still cant bear the thought, of him getting about 20-30 million to spend on new players.

i wish john henry is as connected to the fans as he says he is, and fires him before he can actually spend a dime.

The 2 successive wins did not change anything. My opinion of Hodgson is still the same – he’s a 2nd rate manager trying and failing miserably to manage a team with 1st rate players. I still dun see any shape in our play especially in the attacking area. And I dun think he has any tactical plan in place. I dun see him shouting any specific or intelligent instructions from the sideline. The occasional sideline noises coming from him are the usual motivational rants, which even I can do it. Then it’s back to the bench to stroke his chin and hope for the best. In the last match against Bolton, I can see him clasping his hands nervously and talking to Sammy Lee. About what I dunno but as the manager of Liverpool, he definitely did not project a confident and composed image. And we’re playing Bolton FFS!!!

Our attacking play nowadays relies very much on the individual skills of Torres, Gerrard, Cole, Maxi etc to create the opportunities. Is it mere coincidence to see us closing down high up in the pitch during our 2 recent wins? I wonder how much of this is due to Hodgson since this tactic was previously employed by Rafa? At the moment, we’re still not good enough. We need to do more in attack. I wonder what the players think of Hodgson. I wonder how much of Torres’ lack of form is due to Hodgson. I worry that the longer Hodgson stays on, the closer the likes of Torres, Agger, Pacheco etc will be to the exit door. I worry that our best young talents will get frustrated and leave, especially with Hodgson’s “principle” of preferring experience over youth, which is absolute rubbish in my opinion! And worst of all, I worry that we’ll waste our transfer funds and lose some of our good players at the hands of an average manager in January.

I dun think NESV will sack Hodgson JUST YET. That would be too drastic and risky especially when we’re not playing too well at the moment. I believe they will stick with him for now with 2 baselines in mind. Baseline 1 (X’mas) – If he fails to deliver results from now till X’mas, he will be gone. Else, he will still be manager until the summer which is Baseline 2. He will be given the funds in January but minimal. Baseline 2 (Summer) – His contract will be terminated and replaced with a world class manager, irregardless of his performance. Unless of course he can perform a miracle and get us to 4th, which is impossible!

From what I see, it’s obvious the crucial period for Hodgson is from now until X’mas. He must win most, if not all of the games. We can easily slip back into the relegation zone if we lose a couple of matches. The bad news for us is that the likes of Blackpool and WBA are performing above expectations, so we better keep on winning, there’s not much room for error. Loser Hodgson may not care whether we are in 18th or 19th position but we care and we mind! So if I’m John Henry, my message to Hodgson is clear and simple – “Win 90% of the matches from now until X’mas and I can guarantee u a Merry X’mas with funds available in January. It won’t be much but should be good enough to improve the squad. DO NOT COMPLAIN! BUT if u fail, I’ll be happy to write the cheque for your 1-year salary compensation payoff. Thank you very much, Roy. That’s all for now. Oh and please do remember to keep your mouth shut during press conferences for now and get back to your job proper! Goodbye.”

Simples...
:;):

But if Kenny doesn't believe that is in the long term best interests of the club then he won't.....

Exactly
If thats the case maybe he should consider his future at the club then?
???

You believe that supporting the manager regardless is in the best interests of the club, Kenny might not (and it appears he doesn't) share that belief.

That is an assumption and a false one at that.
I believe that Hodgson will be the manager for the foreseeable future, at least until the end of the season. Kenny should get over the fact he didnt get he job and support the man who did.
If he doesnt then he is causing un-necessary friction which can and will backfire on the club he supposedly loves.
In my humble opinion

What's Kenny said ?

Exactly

I never said that...."whats Kenny said" is what I said....don't mis quote me...just answer the question

Put your muscles away mate

:;):
I wasnt misquoting you
I was making the point that as far as I know Kenny hasnt said anything and he would clear things up if he did
Cheers

This shames you? He is making a f,ucking show of our club and I am ashamed of him, Ive had my son ridiculed in Dubai and Abu Dhabi this past fortnight for wearing his Liverpool kit even by the customs officers and passport control taking the p,iss liverpool good with Rafa Liverpool not good Hodgson in the shopping malls walking around they where laughing at my child because of this feckin idiot we have in charge something that has never happened in the 4 other times Ive been there this past year.

I dont take to kindly of people reducing my child to tears and its down to one man that clueless fool of a manager. And if you have to ask then you just dont get it like him he buggers off to london back home after every game, has never stayed at any club longer than 2 seasons and some of you are putting him on a peddastil like hes queen f,ucking bee why? Please tell me why?
tell me what he is going to win us, the CL? NO, The prem? No. why do you want him to stay?

98% of the fanbase want him out and with good reason if you have to ask then your as clueless and deluded as he is !!!

ciggy Im sorry your holiday was spoiled and your son was upset at commments from others, I truly am. But even you cannot seriously be blaming Roy Hodgson as the sole reason that you were ridiculed by west ham fans and custom officers?
We know you arent that keen on Roy, but you are taking this to another level by blaming him for all the problems we have and the joy others are getting at our situation.
It is natural that those who have seen us at the top for so long would be over the moon at our reported "demise". Thats what footballs  all about and youre right, we have spent decades immune from this kind of stick and of course it hurts. But I wouldnt take it too seriously as we'll soon be back amongst the big boys. Have faith.
By the way, can you show me the evidence where 98 % of the fanbase want him out please as I think youve been misinformed

Like I said, I can understand her anger and frustration at being ridiculed by the renowned, knowledgable footballing aristocrats from west ham and those well regarded football experts from the customs office of Dubai. But to focus all her hatred for our current plight on one man is not very realistic.

Just to make this clear daws. I am not trying to take the pi'ss out of ciggy (ok a little bit but not fully) when I joke about west ham fans and custom officers. What Im more concerned about is the way ciggy has chosen to blame Hodgson for everything thats wrong with LFC today. She is using her formidable influence to turn people against Roy and its not right. I have no problem with people thinking hes he wrong man for the job. I have my own doubts that he is. But continually slagging the man is not helping anyone. We are top of the group in europe and have climbed to 12th in the league, 3 points off 7th. Surely thats positive? Not for some obviously.
I had a set-to with a friend on sunday. All the way through the match he was slagging Hodgson. If Torres messed a chance up it was "Fu*king Hodgson" same thing when Gerrard misfired: "the managers sh'ite". This went on right through the match until Maxi scored, then he jumped up and down like a loon. When I asked him if Hodgson was still sh'ite he said, with a straight face: "that goal had fu'ck all to do with him" Unbelievable!
Sadly thats the mentality of some of our "fans" nowadays.

ciggy is just sour and has been for a while now. but she's 'loved' around these parts and can do no wrong. sad fact of life but if your names ciggy you get free reign to say what you want and anyone says owt back to her will be reprimanded.

As for blaming Roy for your holiday ridicule - get over yourself. You sound like a spoilt brat. "woe is me, they said some nasty things about my kids football kit, blah blah blah, sob sob sob" - grow a pair!
