we didn't replace Alonso, we didn't get a striker, we didn't address our defensive deficiencies, while other teams improved, we did not.

We don't need a manager who puts a shoulder, we need a manager who is tactically competent, who buys the right players for the right positions and motivates.

No need for that crappy ''your special'' b*llox that Mourinho does. FFS, they are pro footballers who are paid thousands to wear the shirt and give their best. All that moaning and whinging won't help, they should get on with it and be proud for the club they are playing for

if we would of kept the same squad as last year and roy had just bought one striker we would of been in the top 5. Roy fecked it up. He should of kept mash and aqua and just brought in a striker even on loan it was so obvious what we needed.

Your link doesn't work, however their comments are besides the point. We have a squad capable of performing to a given level and that level is not bottom three after 8 games, it's considerably higher: we - forumites, fans, players, manager, owners, anyone with a clue, can all agree on that point. If the team doesn't perform to a reasonable standard, the manager is the man charged with getting them to (that's why he's there) by whatever means necessary.

Its not either or. Its both. Thats the point Im making.

I havent been online in a few days but the Blackburn game was quite good and a lot better then anything under Roy.  I do hope its not the best we can play though.

We're still not creating enough clear cut chances from open play.  A lot of our attacking threat is coming from the Greek and corners etc.

But it was a lot better and Roy has bought himself another game or two at least.  Hopefully he can build on this.

Roy Hodgson wants the performance against Blackburn Rovers to be the blueprint for Liverpool's remaining 29 league fixtures.

The Reds found a new gear to dispatch Sam Allardyce and his team - with the only disappointment coming from a failure to extend the 2-1 scoreline.

Goalscorers Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Fernando Torres earned most of the plaudits afterwards, but Hodgson saw quality all over the park.

He even likened the performance of Jamie Carragher to a great Brazilian full-back.

He said:

"We were much more incisive, we got behind them more, we got behind them down the flanks, and Jamie Carragher was bombing down there like Carlos Alberto of old.

"We didn't concede too much space either and were winning the ball back quickly. It was the right sort of performance but we've got to give another 29 of those.

"If we can do that, we won't go too far wrong but there's a lot of work to be done here - everyone knows it.

"We're working in adversity but sometimes work done in adversity can be beneficial in the long-term because when you come out the other side you are a much stronger team and much stronger people.

"Bolton away won't be easy and then we've got Chelsea."

"We were much more incisive, we got behind them more, we got behind them down the flanks, and Jamie Carragher was bombing down there like Carlos Alberto of old.

One medicore performance against a gack team and everyone is creaming their trunks. Blackburn under dirty Sam sit in an almost identicle defensive line to us and probably play just as bad football at the moment. Some of our players just decided to attack - being the home side and all - and they sh*t bricks. No biggie as to how that would go, then. But if Roy thinks that using a tall CB as one of our main avenues of attack is playing good football is the way to go from here on in, then we're even more f*cked and he is even more more clueless than I gave the man credit for. I think we'll see his masterplan come to shreds against Bolton on Sunday, because they won't just sit back and be pressed.

Bloody hell,

so Roy is not allowed to praise Carragher for his attacking display? Roy can't use the Blackburn game as a benchmark to go on and get the same performance against Bolton next week? Seriously, some of you lot have a personal vendetta on the man, what do you want from him really? He is basically saying if  we put the same performance we gave against Blackburn we will win more games, now that is not hard to understand is it? I really have no clue whats wrong he said in his above comments? please clarify.

They either dont realise, or wont admit they want us to lose games so he will be sacked.
If we win, he succeeds and he stays. If we lose he fails and he goes.
Its not hard to work out really...

Anyone that wants Liverpool to lose is not a real fan.

Although it was a good win against Blackburn, we're still in 18th place.
Win against Bolton and we'll climb a good few places up the table and maybe gain some confidence that we can beat chelsea.

lose or draw against Bolton and we'll stay in the relegation zone with lots of pressure and not much confidence that we can beat Chelsea.

it could still go either way but i think its a vital few games in regards to Roys Liverpool career.
