ROY HODGSON - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Can I just say that I aren't blaming Rafa for our start, it's down to Roy 100%. He was brought in to stop our tailspin, and as some predicted he hasn't been up to the job.

Just to re-iterate for the small minority that seem to carry the biggest chip on their shoulders...

Many posts have been deleted by both sides of the pro/anti  rafa brigades....there was no discrepancy...it was only posts that had no relevance to Roy Hodgson...any posts with no relevance to Roy will be removed in full .....

So the question is - will we see a change in the way the team sets up , if he doesnt will that be the downfall of him BUT if he changes then maybe he may well pull it out of the fire .

Once he opened his fuking trap and started spouting we became sh!te.

Im glad you and your ilk have Roy you deserve everything thats coming your direction i hope your happy with your choice serve you right and when he leaves hopefully you will f,uck off and follow him to his next club.

:D  that cracked me up...

Its like we have 2 liverpools!

I actually thought, and so did a lot of my mates, that Gerrard played better when he had the court case hanging over him.

And yes I blame Benitez for coming second that season. Fk up after fk up when we were in a strong position. It has also got to be remembered that the football we played in the first half of that season was boring in the extreme. It was certainly as ugly as anything that Fulham played last season.

It makes me laugh these Rafa lovers who had Hodgson in an early grave before he even started but try getting an alternative solution out of them and you will not be able to!

I really do worry about some of the sky isn't blue merchants, even after all this time and even after seeing how poor the squad really is, they still can't accept it.

If eating humble pie means those of us who thought Roy might be up to it look like they were wrong, cut me off a slice by all means. As far as benitez is concerned though, some of you must just be gluttons for punishment :D . Let it go FFS already.

Nah mate the downward spirall started when the 2 fat yanks took over, wasnt Rafas doing he just had enough and the tensions between him and the board rubbed off on him and the players. Like u said a downward spiral. But THE YANKS started it.

Just to say again, it was Gerard Houllier had "the 5 year plan" not Rafa Benitez.

On the bright side Man U is headed to where we are now imo, just a matter of time.  The only way for us now is up at least.

Waddaya mean? It was Shank's 38 year plan that TOTALLY went off the rails in the last 3 years. I'm glad we sacked him, Scottish gít.

Indeed.

For me his time is up based on the appalling performances and results he's presided over on his watch to date.  It may be early but there's very little excuse for having a club with this much quality still in its ranks camped in the relegation zone.

With that said, it's not Champ Manager and binning a manager has consequences.  There are, then, a couple of things to consider:

1) We have brand new, wet behind the ears and don't know a thing about football owners who have not had time to get their feet under the table and reorganize a board that will take us forward on the pitch.  In this situation, who's going to decide who we go after as a replacement manager and on what basis?

2) There will be a dirth of top quality managers available and interested at the moment given the stage of the season we are at.  Having 'settled' for Roy, would we be in the disastrous decision of having to 'settle' again?  We can't afford not to get the next appointment spot on and so need to go at this problem very carefully.

The only way out of this double-bind, IMO, would to appoint Kenny as interim manager until the end of the season.

It really is this simple, and it should have been this simple when Rafa was sacked.  Kenny was the obvious interim manager until owners were found and stability was in place financially.  Hiring Hodgson was a big mistake when Kenny was really the obvious stop gap.

Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal
Man city 3-0  Liverpool
Liverpool 1-0 West Brom
Birmingham 0-0  Liverpool
Man Utd 3-2  Liverpool
Liverpool 2-2  Sunderland
Liverpool 1-2 Blackpool
Everton 2-0 Liverpool

ok its shocking reading......or is it. we knew the state of the team even before the start of the season.

look at last years results god we well mucked up in some of them games, like away to Fulham, we got beat 3-1
Aston Villa done us at home 1-3
got done at Wigan 1-0

the results this season have been a long time cominng, we have no bench to pick from that can change the game.

is it ALL down to Roy? well apart fom the Blackpool game i would have to say no.

what i am very worried about is that Roy comes with a rep of beingf able to pick the team up, make them fight!!!!! not seeing it right now...are you?
