Hopefully he will be gone today.

I cant judge the man as you guys go to the games and its important to be there to assess all the circumstances and not just the television angle, however one thing I can say is sometimes it take more guts to decisively deal with a situation than to sit back and do nothing.

Chelsea grasped the nettle with Filipão sacking him as clearly he wasn't the right man for the job, and IF thats the case with Woy then better the club strike early and resolve the issue before it becomes a drama.

The downside of doing nowt is the medicore players who can play well when challenged going off the boil, and the likes of Nando wanting away - understandably. The once famous Liverpool squad atmosphere is being rocked to its foundations.

by the same token, spurs sacked ramos after 8 games when he had 2 points and harry ended up nearly getting them into europe so it can be done.

unfortunately this talk of "the liverpool way" doesn't really exist anymore. it's a dog eat dog world where you do what you have to do to survive.

Exactly. There is no Liverpool way these days. Instead, we are represented by a bunch of prima donnas on the pitch who are happy to take an obscene pay cheque at the end of the week and swan off to their equally obscene houses after putting in a pathetic shift.
A poxy disgrace is what the current lot is. And the manager, with his arrogance that it will cost the club if he gets sacked, well, it would cost a hulluva lot less than relegation or even failure to make the Useless Cup again next year...

Who called the meeting and who's at it (not interested in newspaper talk)....though if the press is at it, it's hardly about the future of RH.

Werner gives Hodgson backing

Liverpool's new co-owner Tom Werner insists manager Roy Hodgson's job is safe and he will be given transfer funds.

Fellow co-owner John W Henry has also given his backing to Hodgson, whose side have picked up only six points from their opening seven Barclays Premier League games.

Werner, the chairman of New England Sports Ventures, who bought the Merseyside club for £300million this weekend, told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek programme: "He (Hodgson) needs to be given time. We have a lot of confidence in Roy."

He added: "Nobody can be pleased about the start of the season but the club ought to gel. We had a nice chat with him yesterday (Saturday) and look forward to talking to him tomorrow."

Werner, who revealed the new owners would be meeting supporters' representatives on Monday, added: "The one prescription for disaster is to lurch to the left and lurch to the right.

"We see no reason why Roy can't be our coach this year and in the future. We're certainly going to give him time.

"I don't want to make too many promises except that we expect the fortunes of the club to improve."

When asked if the owners would be providing Hodgson with "reasonable" funds, Werner replied: "Yes, absolutely."

But who would come in? I'd quite like someone like Bert van Marwijk but would he want to leave Holland right now? ..and especially for us?

To be fair we often hear those comments just before managers are changed.

I'm pretty sure that would have been TJ Henry's first ever game of football on saturday. He hasn't bought a football club, he's bought a marketing company.
