But now change is needed fast. Essentially a better manager is needed than both Hodgson and Rafa. Neither are good enough. Use the free money now to attract a big manager.

Would you go for MON? It's a bit of a strange situation as there isn't really anyone about and we didn't think we would be asking these questions only a few months in.

ok mate point out what i am saying is wrong for me.

The club has a lack of good player from the 16yr olds to the first team

poor players need to be sold off.

another manager will find it hard doing this job as he will still have the same team untill Jan.

Torres is not himself and has not been for a long time.

Reading through the forum from today all you have spoken about is 16 year old kids not being good enough - couple of points 1. How the hell do you know they aren't good enough 2. Do you actually know the kids we have and their potential and ability - I suggest you go do your homework and then come back .

benny i base it on the fact we spent the last 3 years butying them and then letting them go. we sent out a 2nd team and got our butt kicked out of the cup.....thats what i base my view that its more than just the first team that has the problem.

Thing is, if we have 10 game spells from now on, on average dropping points, winning the odd game, and the mid-table form we have showed over the past two seasons from now, and we stay relatively where we are, then the gap from the top will be a lot more and more difficult to turn it around.

If we are still down there come the end of the year then, start to worry.

people say.."oh yeah we are good enough to be in the top four easy", but if you look at some of the form over the past two seasons we struggle to put a run of decent wins together, and have drawn a lot. hence finishing 7th last term, and drawing 11 the season B4.

not so easy to get out of the mess.

And on the point of fans getting behind the manager - it's hard to cheer on such an inept set up and tactics but the fans are hoarse from trying today . Today was embarrassing , shameful and I was gutted walking out of the ground listening to BS ( including my mate sat next to me ) singing about us going down . Lakes says no manager with this team would do any better - well lakes previous manager did far far better with this team . Can't believe I'm going to say it but it's time for Hodgson to be replaced - sometimes it's better to just say the club made a mistake and rectify it quickly .

Rafas fault !!!

a lot has changed since then, for one torres seems to have forgot where the goal is,

Your excuse is flawed due to the fact Torres missed most of last season.

And all you have done all day is blame Rafa when infact Roy couldnt lace Rafas boots cause he is totally out of his depth and shouldnt be anywhere near our club !!!

You hounded Rafa out I hope you are happy with his replacement enjoy the championship if this old fool stays around.

come on time to give the Rafa stuff a rest ciggy he has gone.

That's ironic, it was you and dawson clinging to Rafa as an excuse come the final whistle today. Tell me if we get relegated are you gonna blame Rafa as well?  :D

Just face facts Roy is a fish out of water here and is just making things worse. He doens't know how to be creative and play posession football why, because he has always played ugly football. We have a team suited to pressing and he isn't playing the team to their strengths so no wonder we are getting steamrolled. And then for him to turn around and say thats the best performance of the season? Dear god I really do fail to see how people still have faith in the man. He has to go now!

We have new owners, get MON or Hiddink in now and we can have  a fresh start. We need someone to motivate the players and steady the ship.

do you think MON will fit into the club, many fans dont like him, god i can see this forum now lol

There isn't anyone else around right now except maybe Hiddink and it might be too hard to get him. MON has always overachieved wherever he has been, also it can't be hard to better the job Roy is doing right now. No offence to him as  a person but he isn't cut out to manage this club. If he has any respect left for the club he will step down tonight.

Would you rather we stick with Roy and enjoy the bottom of the table for a few more months? Give me a :censored: break lakes, you cannot defend what we are seeing.

bavmate dont be like the rest of them read my posts mate, not once have i said dont sack Roy, in fact i dont give too hoots if he is sacked or not, i have never seenb him as a long tearm manager and if his time is up its up, my point is that its still going to be hard for any manager with the full club of players we have right now.

Go and watch a few of the academy players in games , go and watch a few of the ressie games . We got beat against Northampton because of tactics and set up . Don't slate players you have no knowledge off .

He wasnt mate he was just making the point that it doesnt matter who you have playing for you if you dont play as a team you can go down.
His point was the leeds side that went down was a good team playing bad and if it can happen to them it can happen to us.

i absolutely adored that team. Kewell, Viduka, Smith, Woodgate, Ferdinand, Harte, etc. i still have their jersey with Fowler's name on it. they had a superb young team. i hope we do not follow in their footsteps.

Well we will just have to take the risk. It's either that or stick with Roy and potentially watch is sink proper. Which would you rather go with?

So what's your point Red, that people were wrong, you were right, you told us so, what?

FWIW I've said myself many times that the TEAM we CURRENTLY HAVE ought to be good enough IMHO to challenge for the top four. I don't think we've got enough good players to get into it any more, but we should be able to have a go at it. That said, with Torres playing like he is we are an ordinary team, because we don't have a credible alternative striker.

The vast majority of our players though are below the standard required for a club of our stature. Why that is has been done to death on here, but nontheless it remains the critical problem.

Just be grateful there's always a corner to back into ,for you budding mediums    ...whats up big fella not receiving enough gratification for your startling predictions as to how a Good Old English manager would totally transform us .?  Like I stated  earlier I am not at my most forgiving after having been subjected to the one sided abuse we received at Goodison when  our players and especially Our Old English manager were ridiculed in no uncertain terms ....and like the scenario that was unfolding on the pitch we had no answer to that either
I am fucking livid at that soulless display by a team masquerading as the Club I love ....its more than just pretense  Mick its a cruel charade and the fans deserve better Lad ...much much better and the manager is a huge part of this ...anyone who fails to acknowledge this isn't the honest  poster I first thought them to be

We are currently second from bottom because of the set up and the tactics employed by the manager lakes - countless other managers would employ the players far better ( including previous manager ) .

as i say mate dont care if roy gets the sack, he has not grown on me and i did give him a chance. Hiddink would be my pick in truth. but he is stuck into a contract as far as i know

tbh Mick even Ronaldo and Messi would find it hard to perform well in this team.
