Very possible that he will be available if he loses the league with the European champions who won the treble last year.

If he does come back, will he give back the millions he took from the cash starved club to go away?

Your starting to look silly now . He earnt the club millions upon millions .

NO he didn't . The club made big losses.

When the owners (rightly or wrongly) decided that he had failed as manager, he held on to take millions of pounds for himself out of this cash starved club. He then made some charity contributions and ensure that everyone got to hear about his good deeds.

All the above is true.

How old are you Big Naill? no offence but you're showing too much of your ignorance in your posts...

I have to agree Big Niall does appear to be a product 1999 baby boom

I would give anything to have the man back at the club ....sooner have f ucking Ken Dodd than the present incumbent
show me someone who willingly accepts failure who will make a good manager ....and I will show you a good comedian who tells bad jokes

All the above is true.

Go look at the accounts - the only reason the club made losses is because of interest payments to fund bank loans

Just ignore him he's a tit

All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Benitez, who commented briefly on the situation at Liverpool. "I respect my current relationship with the club and the fans. It's better not to talk too much. I will talk in the future."

Lifted from Inter Milan site

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after Inter's 1-0 win at Cagliari, Rafael Benitez said: "It's always important to win, and it was even more important to win today with several players just back from injury.

"We had control of the game, we made one or two mistakes but it was these errors that created chances for our opponents."

Samuel Eto'o continued his fantastic scoring record with his twelfth of the season in Sardinia, maintaining his average of a goal every 39 minutes. But are Inter too dependent on the Cameroonian?

"I don't think this is a risk, especially now that other players have returned," replied Benitez. "Now we will have even more chances to score and win games."

Today's victory sees Inter join AC Milan on top of the table ahead of Wednesday's Champions League visit of Tottenham Hotspur.

"I saw their game against Fulham yesterday. On Wednesday it will be a difficult match against a team that plays with velocity and energy."

Commenting on the possibility of new players arriving in January, Benitez said: "We have two or three situations to analyse and then we will decide with the president and Marco Branca where to intervene."

Congratulations on being top of the league Rafa (joint top with Ac Milan )....  when you think of our respective positions and where a proven WORLD CLASS manager with the right backing  can take you its soul destroying.... I remember how velocity and energy could be used to describe us  :(

They are lucky to have him. And to think we practically dropped him off there too. Disgraceful.

Some of yous are funny, very funny

I was Rafas biggest fan up until January last year and he gave me the best football night of my life ever.

But some of yous treat him as if he was a God!

Do yous remember the football we played last season? Or are we meant to forget about that and just all think about Istanbul?

Rafa done some fantastic things at this club and the good times outshine the bad times, but here is the things that some of yous need to think back and remember  - THERE WAS BAD TIMES!! Some very bad times - it went stale, the players new it, the manager new it and if everyone is honest the fans knew it. A change was needed, if that was the right change dosent matter while discussing in this topic.

If the man ever comes back I will welcome him with open arms but FFS can we all stop going on like the man is in line for a sainthood!!

Do you want the simple answer DD ,or the perspective of a Scouser .... ? if your answer is the first then you are obviously dismissing the fact that to most Scouser's he was indeed an Iconic figure and will forever remain as such ,and if we're talking bad times  then I think  the position we sit in now is more prevalent when married up to the description of the word bad than when Benitez flirted with the belief we would finish fourth and in actuality finished Seventh ......
I miss him greatly as a World class manager ...not as a deity DD
and if that warrants his description as a Saint then so be it ....other people give titles I just remember him as Rafa in a time not so long ago when the team had ambition and a manager with fire in his belly and I too would welcome him with open arms mate

I know Red and my post was not aimed meant as a Hodgson/Rafa debate. I just think the time was right for him to go when he did. Who came in next is another matter.

Maybe some day he will be back and we can all be friends again :D
