people want him out? ???

I certainly don't, for the exact same reasons as I've always said. The owners need to go for ANY Liverpool manager to be able to do a decent job at the club. Back the manager, sack the Yanks

A manager can play either defensively or offensively but the problem whether he has the right player at his disposal. I would say the players we have are far more suitable for an offensive system. The effectiveness of the system really depends on having the right players. By playing offensive players in a defensive system, we played worse and gave up more goals even in a defensive system. Hope Roy would realize this and play a system that suits best with the players we have. Until he gets the right players for his defensive style, it will not work.

I am beginning to think the Yanks have employed Roy just to act as a fall guy. I think this is the reason Kenny never got the nod... he would have united the fans against them... By appointing Roy they have a guy who the fans are immediately aloof of..

Makes me feel even more behind him!!!!

Him saying that a protest makes his job of managing the team a little harder (if that is what he said, and I note the absence of scrutiny from some quarters) isn't going to do any lasting damage to the campaign to get rid of Gillett and Hicks. He's made it abundantly clear that he wants the current owners out and that's the significant point. He is not pro the owners, and by not being pro the owners, his desire to see a change naturally coincides with the desire of SOS, affiliated groups and indeed all sensible LFC fans.

I have read all the words of Roy, but I don't get the nuances of the context.

On first read, my interpretation of his words were that there are some men, that are not the owners, that are trying to find buyers, and in those circunstances, a protest doesn't help.

Perhaps if he hadn't mentioned the team, the message would be understood better. Because it's contradictory that Hodgson says that it doesn't help the team while we see the captains clapping the guys at the stands.

I don't think SOS should feel too angry about Roy's words, because my interpretation was the one of the first paragraph, but I can understand perfectly what the SOS members feel because I've known in my country what you feel when you try to do something for your local club, and they tell you it doesn't help.

So when I read some Liverpool reds talking about feeling dettached about the club (1), I know how they feel because I've been combatting corruption in my local club for some time and I got stick for it (the corrupt guys want to keep filling their pockets with the local club).

My conclussion, if someone doesn't correct me about the context, is that we should move on, keep on the protests because they are fair, and support the manager because it's the right thing to do.

(1) It doesn't matter they feel like this, because they feel like this because THEY LOVE the club. They can't be really be too dettached, because belonging to a club is not something you choose, it's something you feel.

ok then so if Kenny had taken the job and the results and games were exactly the same, if Kenny was in charge now and we're in THIS position, would ciggy, benny etc be spouting how he isn't right for the job? or is it just because it's Roy?

Roy needs to earn the trust of the supporters.  There is only way to do that..... win football matches.

tbph I dont think they would. BUT on the same token there are those who hated Rafa so much are putting their blinkered look on Roy. Thats how it seems to look anyway to me. I'm not having a jab at anyone here, just saying how its coming off in my eyes

I agree on earning 'trust' , but he should have the backing already. some on here wrote him off before we'd kicked a ball.

I mean if you don't like him or rate him then fair enough but when/if he turns it around and becomes succesful I don't wanna see certain faces on herej oining in with the patting on the back. certain people are not welcome to the winners party after their disrespectful, digraceful behaviour of late.

doesnt matter who is the manager from now on because the squad isnt good enough. And the blame has to lie with the previous manager who was given plenty of time and loads of money to assemble a winning squad. But we are still stuck with some of his most shocking signings.

this is exactly what Im talking about

what do you want to do then, sack rafa again? or do we just keep backing Roy and give him 'two seasons free' like someone said on here and see where we are after?

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Subtle change, dont 'Get Kenny Out' but get another manager in and keep Kenny in the Academy role.
