I think we should sack him now.......now lets see who can we get in. Mouriniho? Hiddink? Maybe Cappello? Im sure all these mamagers and more are itching to manage a team with no money, owners who couldnt care less and a team facing Europa league football and the possibility of having to sell all their best players.

People on this forum need to cop on. So yous all want Roy out, but who the hell do you expect to come in, even Deschamps turned us down.

Give the man a chance we are still in September ffs and most of yous are going on like newcastle or real madrid fans saying he should go if we dont get a result in the next few games.
Get behind the team AND the manager and who knows it might just help for a change instead of the constant squabbling.

The fickleness of our fans show us up to the anthem sung at Anfield, "When you walk, through a storm" HA ! what a joke.
Bill Shankly: “I was the best manager in Britain because I was never devious or cheated anyone. I’d break my wife’s legs if I played against her, but I’d never cheat her.”

ah the proverbial "let it go mate, he's gone" response, when you want to dismiss the other poster's points. It's ironic Mick since you were the one that mentioned Rafa first in this instance with your whatever happens it was the right decision to let Rafa go because the players don't wanna play for him anymore non-sense. Asked for a proof,  you couldn't so you use your tried and tested let it go response...

roy reminds me abit like alan curbishley nice guy gets all the plaudits when he was manager of charlton. Then when he moves to a bigger club he carnt handle it. Certain clubs play a certain way. And we are an attack minded club. Thats why rafa failed and roy will follow.

that is of course non-sense, a team plays how a manager sets them up and indoctrinates them to play... the team couldn't say "hey I've always been an attack-minded team i can't play defensively"  ... that is applicable to individual players but not the team...

Defensive teams can win too. ie) Morinho's Chelsea n Inter, n Italy during numerous World cup wins.
likewise attacking teams can lose games.
for me it is not about how attacking or defensive a team is, the main issue is the team's state of mind, the team's mentality, the desire to win, the belief, the pride in putting on the red shirt.

right now, i dont really see it in the team. a good manager should be able to inspire the team to perform beyond their capabilities.

oh ok... just curious... so who determines that we are an attacking club? Who tells a manager that comes to Liverpool FC, if you come here you have to play attacking football? How does a club attain this ethos that it has to be attacking or defensive? and who maintains this ethos of the club? I'm just curious...

A mistake, through his statement being "insensitive" and open to misinterpretation.
But he wasnt being anti-SOS in the slightest. And I hope they dont see it that way and carry on with the crucial work they do

I don't think his comments left any room for misinterpretation ...truth be told I thought whilst not being totally dismissive of SOS actions he did show a complete lack of understanding towards its members ...and for that matter the importance of the ensuing battle ... he actually for all intents and purposes undermined our cause .... ok naively but nonetheless it did cause James McKenna to revise his press statement and include the managers comments as more than just a foot note ....
and when we need to be united in concentrating our efforts solely on the removal of the owners ...it did prove an unwelcome distraction

In my opinion the "group of people" rant was foolish and unwarranted.
Best if they would have concentrated fully on he message instead of taking sideswipes at the manager.
Focus on the enemy. Not people who are on your side.

The Liverpool medical team have acted cautiously with Torres so far this season but Hodgson insists there is no longer a reason to treat the Spain international any differently from the rest of the squad.

He told his pre-Utrecht press conference: "I think the injury problems are behind him now. I don't think we can consistently bring up the injury problems.

"There's no reason now to separate him from the rest of the group.

"He's been recovered from the injury which kept him out of the end of last season since the start of the World Cup. The injury he picked up in the final was a minor injury which had cleared up by the time he came back for pre-season training, albeit he came back late.

"We have been keeping a close eye on him. We have been trying to monitor his progress and not throw him in the deep end too soon.

"Quite frankly I wouldn't dream of playing him on Thursday night if I didn't think he could play on Sunday as well. But I haven't selected him for Thursday night yet!"

Asked if Torres could benefit from playing in a less pressurised game, Hodgson replied: "I don't have a crystal ball, I'm afraid. If he scores a hat-trick, he'll benefit from it; if he misses three goalscoring chances and plays poorly, he won't benefit from it.

"But he's getting better and better. We've scored four goals in the last two league games and he's been behind all four."

Steven Gerrard is the only senior player who has been rested for the trip to Holland.

Hodgson admits he learned a lesson last week against Northampton when he had no stars on the bench to bring on when things needed changing.

"If you're playing against Northampton and it's 1-1 and you're not playing very well, and you're desperate to change the game around, and then you look around and you realise you've given all the first-team players time off - maybe that's one of the things that has affected my thinking.

"I learned a lot of things last week!"

Meanwhile, Hodgson was quizzed on whether the ongoing ownership saga was affecting the playing staff.

"No, I don't think so," he said. "The players deal with it incredibly well, I think we all do.

"Everyone connected to Liverpool Football Club would like a solution to the ownership problem. While there isn't a solution we have to accept that there will be occasional protests.

"I don't see it affecting us. Certainly not in training. As for the games - we've had a tough start. Six games and six points is not what we'd hoped for. But we've played difficult teams and we're all confident at the club, myself and the players, that we'll get better and the points will start to come."
