Not "bringing up Rafa" Lynds no, only in the sense that every Liverpool manager deserves to be treated with respect by their own fans. What is so hard to grasp for you guys about that?

Remember, this is why even ardent antis like myself jumped on anyone who ever used the FSW on here (I think I saw it twice in six years).

People are fully entitled to criticise the manager, fully entitled to not have confidence in him etc, but I also think Lierpool fans have a history of behaving in a decent manner. Call me crazy but I'm quite proud of that.

The way some of you are carrying on is about as un-Liverpool as it's possible to be IMHO.

2 bankers and two owners that know feck all about football employed him thats the reason he wont be accepted, plus we will win feck all with him.

Roy needs a FULL SEASON before we can sensibly say he has failed.

The captaion has said publicly that they need time to adjust to the new tactics, training and ethos at the club.

After a matter of what can still be measured in weeks it is barmy to start calling for his head.

He didn't do himself any favours with those comments on the protests either.

Bav it's not a question of defending him, your read on how we've played so far is just about spot on I reckon. I think we've played extremely poorly, and were it not for the fact that Steven Gerrard plays for us (how many times have we said that) we'd be royally fecked. I don't much like the style so far, I don't much care for the lack of ambition both on the pitch and off it, and I think we have about three or four matches to sort ourselves out if we are going to have a realistic shot at making the top four.

Where's the "defending" him in that? As I've said thousands of times, I flatly refuse to go down the "deny the sky is blue" route which many on here adopted for much of last season. That's my read on how we've gone so far this season, "defending" him doesn't even come into it.

You see though, for me I'm not defending "him" I'm defending the club, and what it stands for. I'm absolutely 100% certain on this, if you turn yourselves into a Newcastle who sacks managers willy nilly, or a mid table team who disrespects manager after manager, you lose one of the things which is special.

You lot are letting the bad people win here. The yanks are ripping the heart out of the club, and some people are willing to give up the soul as well. This is Liverpool, we don't disrespect our managers by calling them names, taking the fecking p!ss out of the way they speak, posting joke pictures of them on the internet, calling them owls and all that sh!t. We don't flood forums with "hate" football posts after a few matches, feeding the media in their frenzy.

I say we don't, where I should say we "didn't" and we "shouldn't". We should back Roy until it is proven one way or another whether or not he is up to it. Failing that, back him until it's at least sensible to have a guess. You cannot even guess after six matches.

Quick question Bav for you and the posse. Most people make Chelsea favourites to win the league. Now we know they've already lost at City (as did we of course), so how many points do you think THEY'LL get out of these matches:

Arsenal Home
Man Utd Away
Birmingham away
Sunderland Home
WBA Home (already won, as did we)
Man City Away (already lost, as did we).

We aren't playing well, but that is just about as hard a start as you can get. Give the manager a chance FFS.

i agree that a new manager needs time to prove himself.
but there are also numerous occassion that a new manager came in, n the team improve immediately.
ie) Harry Redknapp, Spurs, relegation to champs league.

i think half a season will be enu time to judge Hodgson, i fancy King Kenny as caretaker.

my main complain is that the team doesnt play any different from Rafa's last season.

Think they will get 13 points , wins at all the game except a draw at Mancs but can even see them winning that .

That's an interesting one as it's the example I would have used as well. To be fair, there are many more numerous examples of new managers NOT being so successful, but anyway if you look at the Redknapp one it's interesting.

Firstly, the baby food bloke (Ramos) had been there for a couple of seasons not a couple of weeks. Spurs had had a good chance to look at him. Secondly, they were bottom of the league with TWO POINTS AFTER EIGHT MATCHES when they pulled the trigger on Ramos.

Thirdly, Spurs had some cash to splash and Redknapp invested it well in the main.

Compare to us and Roy.

Firstly, Roy has been manager for not even two months of competitive football.

Secondly, given our fixtures we have done a million per cent better than two points after eight matches.

Thirdly, we haven't go a pot to p!ss in so it makes sense to me to let Roy at least have at getting some of his signings to work out. Equally, he has got a good record at finding gems in the market cheaply.

Now there's a surprise  Benny I've got to say that although this post will no doubt get deleted, I think your behaviour on this forum since we got a new manager has been nothing short of a disgrace.

God help us if you are the calibre of supporter we have these days.

Anyway you can have your comeback, but I'd like to keep the thread on tack because I think I've summed up my feelings earlier better than I have in the past. It's about the soul of our club, and Liverpool fans behave in a certain way towards the manager.

Chelsea are by far the best team and squad in the country - they take teams to the cleaners and have even been missing two of their best players for the last number of weeks . They have already thumped West Brom and will do again , they have the quality to beat everyone in the prem - they did last season and will do again . Not sure how that makes me disgraceful tbh , maybe more jealous when I look at their squad and team and results and performances .

I honestly think they could win all those matches, even against the mancs. City away was always going to be tough, they are playing fanatasy football as Chelsea did years ago so are probably one of the toughest teams in England right now behind Chelsea.

I agree we have had a tough start in terms of fixtures but the way we looked so limp against City (with a full strength team pretty much) and the way we looked out of ideas against B'Ham just doesn't fill me with much confidence. WBA beat B'Ham the other day btw.

You seem to be advocating that it can only get better as we have had a tough first few fixtures. This seems similar to the notion last season that we always turn a corner after xmas. We could have even lost all 6 first games but I would have been more optimistic than I am now if we were at least playing some sort of posession football and creating chances. We are not doing that now and we have had some easy sides so I don't see how our style of football is going to improve against easier opposition.

Blackpool is going to be a big test (already) for Roy. At home, in need of a convincing win, we need to really make a statement against them. If we don't I think you will find it's not just me and a few on here taking digs at Roy.

I would like to know how i am a disgrace thou and how I don't show manager any respect - I don't insult him , don't call him names I just critisize his football decisions and his tactics his set up , what he is currently saying to the media and some of his buys . I'm at the match cheering them all on from the first whistle to the last . So how am I a disgrace and is criticising hodgson on footballing matters now showing disrespect .

I think they will even beat the mancs mate, they look really out of sorts at the back. Evans has been a real weak spot for them this season. They are going down the pan too (utd) but will take a lot longer to fall behind than us imo.
