No your just paranoid ;) thats the fourth person to speak about Hodgsons tactics in the press since saturday.

And none of them are praising them, its a massive worry but those of us that watched Fulham over 2 seasons knew that already. Oh well all we can do is hope for a new owner in October and a better manager to arrive with him.

Marseille boss Didier Deschamps reveals Liverpool talks
Didier Deschamps
Deschamps has enjoyed success at Monaco, Juventus and Marseille

Marseille manager Didier Deschamps has revealed he was interviewed for the Liverpool job before Roy Hodgson took over at the Anfield club in July.

The former France captain said he was flattered by the approach but decided to remain loyal to the French club.

"I am very proud that a club of the standing of Liverpool showed interest in me this summer," he said.

"But, to be fair, it wasn't good timing. I had just started pre-season training with Marseille."

Former Monaco and Juventus coach Deschamps took over at Marseille in 2009 and promptly steered the club to their first title in Ligue 1 - the French top flight - in 18 years.

Speaking ahead of Marseille's Champions League Group F clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, Deschamps said he had a "long meeting" with Liverpool officials before opting to stay in France.

"I don't think the fans or the club officials would have been very pleased if after two days back I was looking to join another club," he said.

Deschamps captained France to glory in both the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.

As a coach he took Monaco to the 2004 Champions League final and won the Serie B title with Juventus in 2006-07 after they had been demoted from the top flight following a wide-ranging investigation into match-fixing that had rocked Italian football.

We knew that before didn't we? Didn't Kenny himself fly out there?

Would have prefered him over Hodgsen any day tbh. Just a shame to look at how bad things are at the club that even a young manager would turn us down. Imagine if this has been just after Istanbul or even a couple of years ago he would have jumped at the chance to come here. Instead we are left with a yes man.

Bav yet again you and others disrespect the manager without any foundation whatsoever. How exactly do you know he's a "yes man"?

The sooner you and the posse drop the character assassination the better.

Mods, after being carded and the rest many times over the years for stuff which was based around the game of football, tactics, selection methods, signings etc, is it now the case that with a new manager everyone has got carte blanche to make sweeping statements about him, completely unsubstantiated, take the p!ss out of him openly etc etc?

If it is the case, why was it not Ok before I don't get it.

Bringing Rafa up again I see? He deserved respect for winning us trophys and putting us back on the map the only way we are heading with this fella is on a downward spiral and you know it.

I don't see how you can defend him so much Mick. Ok we have only seen 5 odd games in the league from him but already it should be clear we are playing ugly no hope football, the only thing saving us right now is occasional flashes of brilliance from Torres or Stevie. He didn't do himself any favours with those comments on the protests either.
