He had a nightmare yesterday and was directly involved in at least two of their goals. I hope he is made to watch a recording of the match to see how sh'ite he was.

He just needs to get tighter on his player and stop the crosses coming in during the last two games every dangerous cross has come from the guy he is supposed to be marking

I thought he defended OK untilt he first goal, and then he never really recovered it seemed to me. In mitigation he was against one of the best wingers in the league, but there's no question about it he will have to do much better than he did.

A couple of posters have asked why he came off the post for the first goal, and I'm fecked if I can think of a single reason.

Just before that I said to my mate "I see hes gone for a player on each post on corners thank fu'ck"
Then Konchesky, on his own on the post, shuffles into the middle and then dives across and handles it into the net.
Unbefu'ckinlievable!

everything about that first goal is indicitive of the leaky defence we have had for 14 months now. Teams are well drilled at defending these set pieces with everyone having a set task and with this task they need to check a few boxes, get your man, goal side, touch close, concentrate, stiffle movement, yet we appear to be unable to go through a half without presenting even meadiocre opposition a chance as a direct result of failing to carry out one of the above and more often than not 2 or 3 lapses at once by multiple players. Theres alot of work on the training ground to be done before we see an improvement because alot of the current faults lie at the door of zonal marking.

Mate, the very fact that he might have to be *told* that, would suggest he might perhaps be a bit retarded. FFS, that's what defending a cross means to every defender on the planet...

We all knew what we were getting when he signed - fulham bought a far superior left back for cheaper and offloaded konchesky onto us - salcido was dismissed because he has an exotic name . Konchesky had played for lower teams his whole career for a reason - because that was his level he has been found severly lacking both defensively and in attack the last two games .

I recall him having a good game against Birmingham to be honest.. they had nothing on their right wing, it was all down Johnson's side.

Didnt have a good game against the mancs but the entire defence was in shambles and he had to put up with Nani's dramatics.

I think your being a little harsh on him to be honest!

Watch the brum game again and you will see plenty of crosses came in from his side - two of their great chances that pepe saved came from a bowyer cross from his side and a Carr cross from his side .

I think Konchesky needs a little time to settle in. Remember, he is stepping into a very average team. His old team will probably finish higher in the league this season. Our other full back is worse, yet he doesn't seem to be getting the same amount of flak.

He is what he is, not highly skilled but hard working LB that will gives all he's got. He seems confused at his position as you can see he somehow went inside the goal area instead of attacking outside and try to prevent the crosses from the right winger. I think having Konchesky, Srketl and Carra is ont a good idea as all three are only good at hoofing the ball. We need more balance and hope Agger can provide more balance. But he is not the real problem. I would say Glen johnson defending is worse. With Joe Cole playing in front of Paul, he need to do a lot of defending as Joe cole did not track back as much to help out.
