Roy inherited a diabolical squad (Alonso for injury prone Acqualani, blew 18m on 1 full back but nobody can play other side)

Club is on the slide as a result

Worst Liverpool Premiership starts (2 games in)

10/11 : P2 W0 D1 L1 F1 A4 PTS 1 (GD -3)
03/04 : P2 W0 D1 L1 F1 A2 PTS 1 (GD -1)
97/98 : P2 W0 D1 L1 F2 A3 PTS 1 (GD -1)

Every other season has seen us pick up three points or more after two games, and if some are thinking "it was a tough start", is that to say we've never had demanding starts before?!?! Villa away and Chelsea at home in 07/08 and 03/04, Southampton away and Arsenal at home in 98/99 (before Southampton became complete pants), Boro away and Arsenal at home (Boro a decent side then)

That was a terrible display against citeh, and Woy did as much as Rafa often did in the face of adversity - nothing. He too stuck by his misfiring guns to the bitter death, changes almost an afterthought as though we were winning 3-0 not losing 3-0 - as we were when the first change was FINALLY made. I don't agree with making three changes at half-time, too risky with the chance of red cards and injuries, but you do need to react to the way the team's playing if not as much then more than the scoreline.

I expect it's no skin of Woy's nose, he's used to losing away from home and probably just wrote it off in his mind as a bad day at the office against a big spending team. Did he not see them against spudz!?!? That wasn't a contest, that was see how good we can make citeh look. As for Mascherano's "head not in the right place", even I'll confess he is a professional and would give his all. I suspect that is smokescreen talk for Mascherano wanting out, Woy not wanting to damage his asset on the point of sale and a chance for Mascherano to see that he doesn't have to be part of Woy's plans so pushing him towards making a decision.

Is pretty much on the money. I was screaming for a change (to the formation) at half-time and then crying out for Babel to replace Jovanovich (who had a mare) and Poulsen to replace Lucas (who had one as well) from the 60th minute onwards but nothing was happening. It was a bit like travelling back in time to last season when I spent a similar amount of time screaming for changes! Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come.

Our squad had more players in the World Cup than any other PL team.
4 or 5 were involved in the final.  thats not too bad.

just a couple of players short.

Benny your foots been in your mouth for at least half of the 10,000 posts you've made in this place over the years! :D

Hodgson is very frank and honest with the media, to be honest I find it very refreshing. I like the fact he comments on transfer speculation and stories in the press rather than leaving us fans to play the guessing game.

Yes he has been good in the media but mentioning the fact you picked Agger against medical advice only to see that player getting taken to the cleaners just opens himself for critism - it was wrong to pick agger but he should of just not said anything .

Changing Lucas for Poulsen or Jova for Babel wouldnt of made a difference - we need someone in the middle to compete against the three they had there - i wanted to see Ngog come off and either pacheco or Poulsen on .

Well just like the Lucas thread and Kuyt thread and Masher thread and Aquilani thread im sure this is a thread where people are able to express their views on the manager and highlight an areas where they see a problem or where an error has been made - surely you must understand that as you have just expressed a negative view on Kuyt in the Kuyt thread .

Why does it matter if you been at the club 5 mins or 50 years ? If you make a mistake then people are entitled to pull that person up . Its not like our manager is new to management - people have said he is vastly experienced in management - 30 years i think it is so to make two fundamental errors in a week is poor IMO .

Which is particularly dangerous in this place from a few of you who can't hide your bias at this early stage of the season.

You've made way to many errors since joing here GBYS. Your posts underpin the notion of insult towards our manager.

Your not getting the stick you deserve from people just for the sake of it, you're on a wind up and most have got you numbered.

Hence the bit I wrote at the top of my post.  (see above)
