Its very unusual for Chelsea to let players go for free if they are an integral part of the team ?

simple fact of the matter is this, without this signing or one like it Gerrard and probably Torres where on there bike, the club had to show these two player and others at the club that they meant business, so its not all about Roy and him having to prove himself, would Cole of signed for Roy had he still been at Fulham, NO, money would of been an issue but ive no doubt the biggest reason he`s signing for us would be the chance to play for Liverpool football club, lets also not forget that Purslow is also under alot of pressure to deliver and whilst he has delived on this one it doesnt mean we should not expect more from him.
so well done to all involved and welcome to Liverpool Joe

Two days ago we were bemoaning being linked with the likes of Beattie, and now we effectively get £6m plus Joe Cole for Bennayoun. If that isn't the deal of the summer I'll plait $hit.
Joe Cole is a player that any of the top teams in the EPL and beyond would like in their squad, and it is a massive boost both to the squad and perhaps more importantly to the morale of all concerned, not least the fans.
A great start for Roy, and the squad is all of sudden looking better, with Jovanovic and Shelvey on board, I am suddenly more excited about the new season.
Even more so when we get the funds from the sales of Masch, possibly Babel and Riera too.
If we use that wisely to secure three or four quality players, and cross our fingers that Aqualani is like a new signing for us too then we could fare much better than we all feared after last season.
As to who signed him....well the finances not suprisingly would have been handled by the men trying to balance our very unbalanced books. It would amaze me if Roy did not convince Cole to come, and of course identify him as a target.
Top signing, top player and everything is looking better all of a sudden.

I thought it was only the people who were positive were being insulted on here according to some .
re read your posts. It's bitterness at its best.
Explain why its bitter . Are people now no longer allowed to express an opinion - do i have to follow along like a sheep in happy happy land because we have signed one player .
