Bav you don't have to lay off references to previous managers on my account mate. Pontificate about all things Valencia all you want I'm simply saying I'm not going to get embroiled in it. There are two reasons for that. Firstly because people start frothing at the mouth the minute you start, and secondly because I'm bored with it. The previous manager was in charge for six seasons, and he left us in 7th spot in the league.

Those are the facts, and I want to discuss how or whether the new manager can improve on that. I think he will.

strange how you dont want to talk about the previous manager yet you keep using his last season in charge to make a point.

Not at all. I made the point earlier today that I thought Hodgson wasa good appointment who would improve us and got asked to clarify what I meant (about five times). When I say I can't be bothered discussing previous management, I can't. There is an obsession on here with discussing that particular subject, and it is one of my resolutions now I'm back not to get involved in it.

As for the "last season in charge" bit, I said earlier today that surely this is what Hodgson would be judged against in his first season. If he stays for six seasons then obviously people will make a comparison between his record and any predecessors, but in his first season his task must surely be to improve us from where we currently are.

Anyway the tone of your post indicates that you are getting miffed with the point, and I'm already bored talking about it on a Roy Hodgson thread, so I'll leave it there.

What happens if we don't improve on previous season ?does he get another season ? What happens if we give him another season and still no improvement ? Another season and same scenario for the three seasons so we would of wasted 3 seasons

They wont let it go will they?
Its as if Rafa was the victim in all of this. A conspiracy to get him out by people who were waiting for the opportunity to overthrow him.
Lads. Face facts, Rafa had lost the plot. He was like a mumbling, bumbling fool in the end. I have great respect for his acheivements and for him as a man, but for LFC he had come to the end of the road.
Get over it. Hes gone. He aint coming back (hopefully)
Roys here. And all the bitching and snide comments, the disrespect and the mocking before he has even met all of the team is beneath contempt.
So what if youre unhappy with his appointment? So what if you wanted a "superstar" manager of the standard we deserve? So what if your frightened of the future? Be brave and strong like Liverpool supporters should be. Yes were on a journey into the unknown but it could be the ride of a lifetime. This could be just the thing we need to get our credibility and reputation back.
Lets hear it for the Roy!

SORRY I WAS ANSWERING BENNY'S POST HERE.

Four questions in one post, in only two lines as well. I know it's the close season and things are a bit quiet, but asking me the same questions which you asked and I answered about two hours ago is stretching it a bit. Anyway, since it's me first day back lets go for it.

The answers to your questions are no we wouldn't, yes, yes, Ronnie Moran and let's cross that bridge if and when we come to it. Now to make it more interesting, I haven't answered them in the order that you asked them, I've mixed them up a bit. You've probably also noticed I've put a random answer in, just to throw you off the scent. I'll leave it with you.

Welcome back mick ,good to see yer posting again . See you are still in denial regarding the backroom shenanigans . Poor Roy hasn't got a chance with what he has to work with . It's not his fault and it won't be his fault when we see what happens next season (if the owners and directors are still here) Your top names gone (you know the ones , the ones who were supposed to be staying if Rafa got sacked) the majority of income from said players going towards the debt . DO NOT BLAME ROY , for what happens in the next season . It's totally unfair on the fella. We will be going backwards and we will be a mediocre mid table side . Not through lack of effort on Roy's behalf i reckon . You should  have no expectations whatsoever from the coming season mate ,seriously .

Well we certainly agree on not blaming Roy Igor, he's inherited a shambolic situation. My guess is that we will lose Gerrard and Masherano, but it is obviously entirely possible we will lose Torres as well. When that happens, he will be given a fraction of the accrued money to reinvest. We can all guess how much although none of us know for sure, but clearly the manager has a very difficult job on his hands. No denial there mate, I largely agree with that side of your post.

The bit I don't agree with is when you say we'll be a mid table team. I think we will be a good bit better than that, I think the manager is an excellent one and I think we will finish higher in the table than we did last term.

Totally agree after all that's why Roy past the selection process in flying colours, just the safe pair of hands they need for a few years untill they are forced to sell

We'll see where we finish mick , but i'm certainly not expecting us to do better than last year. Just hope that some of the whopper fans realise the job that Roy's got on his hands that's all . Doubt it .
