THANKS TO RUSHIAN FROM RAWK

(thans to fyds from ynwa.tv for the translation):

"Former Red midfielder Igor Biscan knew he would be moving on after the Champions League win over AC Milan, but retains fond memories and good ties to players and staff at the world famous Anfield club. Returning to his home town of Zagreb before eventually joining Panathanaikos this summer, Igor wished to do something for the many war-orphaned, injured and maimed children of his old neighbourhood and it's surrounding environs.

He turned to Liverpool and with help and advice from the board of his former Club, he went about setting up a soccer school and day care facility funded from his own pocket and with further contributions from other players and people at Anfield. 'I can now go to work full-time knowing my son and daughter will be safe and having a funtime at the centre' said Elena Kovacevic, mother of two and a shop assistant. 'It costs me nothing and helps both my children and myself enormously'.

Elena's is one of many such tales. Other parentless children from the local Jároivic Children's home and hospital(?) also use the centre and it's first class facilities. It is quite something and deeply moving to see a five a side game where eight of the children taking part have a prosthetic whole or partial leg and even occassional arms missing. Gamely they go for it all effort and excitement on the specially child friendly astro-turfed pitch.

Currently plying his trade for Panathanaikos in an up-and-down season for the Greek giants, Biscan has organised a series of charity-sponsorship matches to help fund further facilities at the centre after the World Cup in Germany later this year. It is believed that current and ex-Liverpool team mates will be in attendance as well as many of his current Panathinaikos ones."

Thought a few people might want to read this if they don't visit RAWK.

I reckon we only saw the best of Ior about 35% of the time he was at Anfield.  Which is shit let's face it, but he left as a European Champion and can hold his head high.  I thought the above was a cool story and he's fondly remembered for being a little bit mad.

Excellent from Igor what a great man to offer such a nice gesture.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Loved the fella. Never complained, was never as bad as made out and got on with it.

Took it all the right way and always will be welcomed back.

Yea he was not half as bad as I thought and had a blinder against Leverkusen in the 1st leg of the Champions League last 16 if memory serves me right. I wouldn't mind if he had stayed to be our 5th midfielder really.

Good Luck to Igor wherever you are.

More players should spend a small amount of their huge wages on football schools and places for people to play, instead they just have 5 different cars and spend it on sh1t3
