Top 10 lfc cult heroes

Liverpool Football Club - The Players Lounge

Just wandered who your top 10 liverpool cult heroes would be.

Note that you are not necessarily voting for your favourites in terms of ability. That is not really what a cult hero is all about.

It's more about a player who you idolised for something other than his football, for example Joey Jones, Mad Erik...etc.

Personally, i'd go for:

King Kenny for obvious reason's...

Then Joey Jones - Terry Mac - Jimmy Case - Ian Callaghan - Tommy Smith - Ian Rush - Jamie Carragher - Robbie Fowler - Chris Lawler... because these where kid's from the street's who lived our dreams.

Thoughts? ???

1. Fowler
2. Souey
3. Gerrard
4. Kenny
5. Rush
6. Macca
7. McAteer
8. McMahon
9. Tommy Smith

Most of the above would probably fit in on alot of people's lists. But I always liked McAteer despite his shortcomings and in at #10 is Neil 'Mr. Blonde' Ruddock. That cat was hilarious and earns a place in my pantheon for -

A. His look of complete and utter disbelief when he scored not 1, but 2 goals against Leeds in '96.

B. Breaking both of Andy Coles legs in a reserve match against Man U.

Jan Molby -fatter than most fans but still running the show on the pitch -Theres other players who werent the best but still had the cult following like Razor Ruddock and Grobbelaar
- players with personalities and who were one offs have always been heros of mine.

Emlyn Hughes, Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish,   nuff said
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
