On LFC.tv

"Steven Gerrard is back for this weekend's game at Wigan but the Reds will be without Peter Crouch for the clash with Paul Jewell's men.
Gerrard missed the midweek clash at Charlton with a knee injury but has passed a fitness test at Melwood today and should make an instant return to first team duty as the Reds look to bounce back from defeat at The Valley.

But Liverpool will have to do without Crouch this weekend as the striker recovers from a heel injury. Stephen Warnock (groin) and Luis Garcia (knee) are also sidelined.

"It's good to have Steven back again because he is a very important player for us," said the Liverpool manager.

"Crouch will be missing though because he can't run or train at the moment. It isn't a serious problem and hopefully he will only be out for two or three days. I think he should be back for the Arsenal game on Tuesday night."

Come on Red men

I actually think it is a good thing crouch is not fit for the game, but it might be a bad thing to have told wigan today, so they have time to adjust their tactics. Teams were strating to learn how we were using crouch in games and nullifying his threat. This would be a good opportunity to start cisse and fowler up front... give robbie 60 mins or so and depending on how the game is going... introduce moro

i was coming around to the conclusion that crouch should be rested for a few games anyway. although i'm not a fan, i think cisse will almost certainly start this game, probably upfront with morientes. gerrard will most certainly revert back to the right hand side.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

For this game I would like to see:

             carson
finnan carragher agger riise
        hamman  xabi
    gerrard        kewell
         moro   fowler

although I think benitez will probably play something like:

               dudek
finnan carragher hyppia riise
         sissoko  hamman
   cisse     gerrard    kewell
             morientes

I would like to see Carson at goal since Dudek played last game, just to give him a chance. Also Agger ahead of Hyppia, the big man needs a rest once in a while. Im kind of supersticious so i'll be reading how the game goes on internet and tape the match. I get the feeling that when i dont watch the game when theyre on a bad run we win :p

I think rafa should change things up front - Odviosuly Morientes and Crouch isnt working so maybe Crouch and fowler? With cisse on the right wing and hamman playing instead of sissoko, or Gerrard (if fit).

You would expect us to win this game. However, you never know, just like Charlton whom no one gave a hope to, and were apparently struggling!

I'd start with, Fowler, and gerrard just behind, or maybe Cisse.

and Moro , has not done enough to warrant a start this time for me.

You can always bring Robbie off after 60 mins.

I'd play..

            Dudek
Finnan  Agger Carra    Risse

Cisse  Alonso  Hamann  Kewell

            Gerrard

                 Fowler.

Id play Gerrard there, why not, he has more chance of scoring than Cisse, and can put in fowler.

I'd go out on a limb here, and say with Crouch out with injury, I think Fowler will start along side Morientes.

You obviously live under a rock lol  :D

But you have brought a smile to my face.

pff i think you do mellor is onloan at wigan.

now that brought a smile to my face :p

I thought you can't play against your own club if you are on loan, should have made myself clearer in my previous post.....

:D

Thanks for making me waste my 1000th post for that, lol.

:p

no probs mate, nice 100th post btw.

i think its up to liverpool if he plays against us, i dont think its law that he cant.

Just to let you know:

Neil Mellor is also ruled out as he is ineligible due to an agreement inserted into his loan contract when he joined Wigan from Liverpool earlier in the season.

Finnan--Carra--Agger--Riise
Gerrard--Sissoko--Hamann--Kewell

Thought Alonso had a bad game on Saturday, would put fowler on for the last 30, why did we loan out pongolle??

I had been looking for a site that provided live streams a couple of months ago, what quality is the video? (and hence how much download quota would it use?)
