Spurs vs LIVERPOOL - Sat 17th Oct 2015 KO 12.45pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Back to the game...

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Alli, Dembele; Chadli, Eriksen, Lamela; Kane

Spurs are missing Mason and Son but thats almost as strong a starting 11 as they can put out. Mason is a very good player and they'll miss him in midfield. Chadli/Lamela are excellent cover for Son. Very attacking lineup from Spurs and we'll be up against it here.

Origi should've headed the rebound from llori.

Spurs looking better now as we are unable to control the ball, Skertel looks terrible.

Very good tempo but a number of players have been poor from a skill level point of view. Sorry to say it lads but Origi looks awful in front of goal, he simply has no football brains or reflexes on him.

Our team cohesion looks alot better... When Skrtle made a mistake, the rest of the team did not just stand there watching...

Can't be too harsh on Origi. I thought he did quite ok. What he needs to do though is to be more confident and put in some attempts on goal.

I agree Origi isn't the best in front of goal but I think he's been alright overall. Skrtel on the other hand is struggling with the high line and if it weren't for Mignolet we would have been one or two down. Overall Spurs have been better but we haven't been too bad ourselves either so a goal for us could change a whole lot.

Really important to get a draw at least.

Origi is playing only because all the rest are broken ☺
Started very strong with immense pressure but you can't keep it the whole game....Clyne looks a new player under Klopp while Martin looks like someone who needs to quit smoking he was woeful. Overall good half Spurs are hard to beat and they can play the aggressive running game even better. If we can steals a few balls on their half and have Lallana finish we are in the good.

I like our overall shape and the way we are playing, this high line high tempo style is deffo the way forward. As one or two have already mentioned though what is letting us down is a lack of technical ability.
We started really well but Spurs have come right back into it the last 20 minutes, hopefully we can regain some control again after the break.

Until there is an upgrade on Skrtel, we will always look uncertain in defence.

For all the attention on Lovren, the real failure for me has been Skrtel...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

Don't know if we'll win this one but deffo looking like a team on a mission !

Positives

Aggressive, always looking to go forward, first touch footy , nobody dwelling on the ball, closing down has been excellent.

Negatives

Few, maybe flair (Coutinho, Lallana) has been sacrificed for team ethic ?

Origi hasn't shown the desire or "fight" required from a lone striker.

Overall, so far very happy with the way we performed in Kloppo's first game, his influence is already apparent.
