Yup 3rd would've been nice but I think we've got a good enough cushion now to get the job done in 2nd leg. Tbh oddly it didn't feel like a semi final, felt like we were playing Watford lol.

Taken from somewhere

There is so much to appreciate about Villareal...they had 5 bad minutes defensively but overall this is how defensive Football should be played. Not how Ateltico does it by cheating constantly, creating fights and then calling it "dark arts".  The Simione method is pure anti-Football nonsense. Villiereal stood up to a hotly in-form LFC team and Anfield, and they are still in the tie.
Villareal fans are very classy. Brought out their own YNWA 96 banner last time. Well behaved folks. The manager and players conduct themselves well. And they have come so far in Champions League without a big budget..just effort and persistence, against all odds. Clubs like these make Football the beautiful game it is. Respect from Anfield

Liverpool’s style of play makes it incredibly difficult even for a team that accepts that it’s best option is all out defence. Villareal have knocked out Arsenal and Manchester United in last years Europa League that they went on to win. This year they have had a magnificent run in the Champions League beating Juvé and Bayern on their way to the semi finals. They are obviously no mugs which makes Liverpool’s performance even more impressive. Villareal had one shot and none on target. Liverpool totally controlled the game. The attitude and determination shown by the team is off the scale and is a massive credit to all concerned.I’m taking nothing for granted but unless we have a very bad day then we should be ok for a trip to Paris !!

An excellent football patient display which was so rewarding to claim a 2-0 win.  All the players have played so well, however, Diaz & Thiago have excelled.

Whoever wrote those words was spot on, there's a lot to admire about how Villarreal go about their business.

Take nothing for granted which is certainly Klopp’s style. An early Liverpool goal for Liverpool would make Villareal’s task very difficult.I’m confident that we will be ok.

It's not going to be an easy game but what will stand to us is that they have to play an attacking game and the longer the game goes without them scoring the more they will have to push. That will create chances for us .

League isn't in our hands but at least we control our destiny for UCL. This will be tough but I think will get the job done.

I hope Keita proves me wrong tonight but so far his passing is sloppy, giving away stupid fouls and should have cut out that cross for their goal.

The worst possible start. Let's hope we can get one back and calm things down.

Sorry but Keita isn't handling the pressure, would have preferred Hendo in a game like this. These guys are turning into Athletico Madrid
