LIVERPOOL VS ASTON VILLA 7 April 2012, KO: 15:00

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby maypaxvobiscum » Sun Apr 01, 2012 4:00 pm

Kenny's Liverpool go into this game with merely 1 win in the past 8 games.  :oh:

We did beat these bunch earlier in the season at Villa Park, 2:0 I believe.

Reina should be suspended hence we will see either Doni or Jones in goal.

We'll see the return of familiar faces in Heskey and Warnock. I don't think Keane is with them anymore.

Winning this game is critical, to ensure that we don't give NORWICH, FULHAM AND SWANSEA a chance to go level on points with us, or for Sunderland to go above us.

Interestingly, Aston Villa are the team with the most number of draws in the league (12) while we are the team which has drawn the most number of games at home (8).

Aston Villa have many of their key players out though, such as Hutton, N'Zogbia, Delph, Bent, Dunne and Petrov.

Expect Kelly, Johnson and Agger to make their returns in this match but Adam and Lucas are definitely out.

We lost the last 3 games because I didn't start the match thread :D

Prediction - Liverpool 3:1 Aston Villa

We'll win this game, and put pressure on Everton who are 1 point ahead of us.

absolutely dreading it. we have nothing to play for and the atmosphere will be even more sh#te than usual for league games.

villa are utterly dire but we're even worse at the moment. they must be rubbing their hands at the thought of facing us at this time. the way things are going i expect skrtel, gerrard or suarez to get a serious injury.

The only positive this game can bring is the continuation of blooding youngsters. I think Kenny needs to give Shelvey more starts. I was disappointed not to see Sterling on Sunday.

probably has a draw wrote all over it.
to echo scs i also think we should be blooding in the likes of shelvey and a cameo for sterling as we have nothing to lose leaguewise.
id rather watch the young lads struggle and gain experience than have to witness our so called stars flop yet again.
losing this is unthinkable and id say kenny would gladly take a point to stop the rot.

If Agger is fit, he can have a massive impact on the whole team, as he is the only CB able to bring the ball from the back.  He allows us to play differently, and he makes Skertl twice the player he is when playing with other CBs.

Shelvey needs to stay in the side, and Sterling needs a run out as sub again.

                   Doni

Kelly (is he fit?)  Skrtel  Agger  Enrique

    Gerrard   Spearing   Shelvey

     Kuyt     Carroll    Suarez

Sterling to get half an hour.

Can only see this being a draw.  Two of the bottom 3 on current league form if I'm not mistaken.  Shelvey could start again and I'd be alright with that, but I'll be ***** if Sterling doesn't get some time... Not sure why he didn't even make the bench against Newcastle.  Would like to see Suarez, Carroll and Stevie all start together, but other then that at this point I don't really care who's in the lineup.  Wouldn't mind seeing some young guys in, or just starting who we have.

Tough to watch these games as of late, but I'll be there 100%!

Will be missing the game, as going to visit the parents.

If Johnson and Agger are back, hopefully we wont concede, no enthusiasm for this game though
