From their point of view I can understand it, their only realistic way into Europe next season is to win this competition. If we were THIRTEEN points off 7th then I'm sure we'd feel the same, they might climb two maybe three places in the league but they'll probably rake in more £££ from playing in Europe with extra fixtures, TV money etc

I think we should be looking to get early goal(s) and push for a few at home, especially if they are without key players and resting others. Their league position is not great, they are all but mathematically safe with Hull able to catch them IF they won all their games and I'm sure Fulham will focus more on their home games

FULHAM HOME & AWAY 09/10

Home : P16 W10 D2 L4 F24 A12 PTS 32
Away : P16 W1 D6 L9 F11 A25 PTS 9

Would you go to a big club and go all out for an unlikely win? They might not have been thrashed away from home week in, week out, but only Sunderland, West Ham, Burnley and Hull have worse away records with two of those being in the bottom three and West Ham level on points with the side just above the relegation zone.

So we should be looking for goals and a clean sheet, play a bit more like we did the end of last season

Goal difference is worth an extra point so we need as many goals as possible in the final matches.

Typical Rafa, Lucas finally has a good game for us (gets the thumbs up) and is rested for the next game  :D

Nice to see Aquaman get a game though.

As good as he is, he's far too injury prone, he's turning into glass. Rafa really should have bought a striker, hopefully he'll remedy this in the summer

David Ngog starts in place of the injured Fernando Torres against Fulham - a game you can listen to live from 2.30pm BST.

Meanwhile, Daniel Agger continues at left-back in place of Emiliano Insua, who is also injured.

The Reds XI in full is: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Kyrgiakos, Agger, Mascherano, Aquilani, Babel, Maxi, Gerrard, Ngog.
Subs: Cavalieri, Kuyt, Benayoun, Lucas, Degen, Pacheco, Ayala.
