Fenerbahce v LIVERPOOL Wed 4th November 17:45 KO

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Early CL kick-off for this one. The main boys must be knackered after the shift they put in against Arsenal. No reason to risk injury for an away match in Turkey, I'd rest most that played against Arsenal tbh.

Joe Gomez and Kostas Tsimikas come into the Reds defence for the Champions League league-phase game in Istanbul.
Elsewhere, there are also starts for Victor Munoz, Rio Ngumoha and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Liverpool: Alisson, Gomez, Van Dijk, Jacquet, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Tsimikas, Munoz, Barcola, Nyoni, Ngumoha.

Subs: Mamardashvili, Woodman, Kerkez, Wirtz, Isak, Gakpo, Araujo, Chambers, McConnell, Koumas, Danns.
++

Why so many first teamers are playing I have no idea...

Expected more but still decent rotation without being too weak I guess. Araujo, Kerkez, Wirtz, Gakpo and Isak are being rested, personslly would have rested Ali and Barcola since Mamardashvili and Koumas should be good enough for these. Keeping players from injury is more important than 3 points in Turkey tbh.

1-0 Nyoni helped by a deflection. They should have had a pen just before that though.

1-1, another deflection from a free kick.

They have a decent team on paper tbh. Thought some of these names were long retired though.

Tsimikas was very lucky to get away with that. And since we went in front it's been all Fenerbahce

2-2, what a stupid goal to concede. Did Ali not give a shout to Gakpo?

Deffo missed Ronnie's no nonsense defending tonight, no way is Ali the same keeper we signed a decade ago either. I'd go and get Kelleher back from Brentford.

Awful game considering all our top players involved. Had it been the B team I'd understand but we had plenty of our top players involved, in fact we got worse once we subbed in more of them. Defensively especially we were very poor.

These conceded 6 from Villa and scored none just a few weeks ago.

Ali has gone to pot, no two ways about it. Three set piece goals conceded too.

I worry about our mental fragility as we are no longer mentally monsters, to be fair we haven’t been for a while. Three poor goals to give away and we should have won that match. The higher up the table we finish, the easier the opposition we face in the playoffs and we still have to go to Inter. Three points lost and two matches lost in a row. Crystal Palace on Sunday then a two week break before we play ManUre.

Disappointed!

Shout out to Dirk Kuyt, he certainly ran miles for us. Divided opinion when he played for us… half the supporters thought he was sh1t, the other half thought he was sh1t but worked hard for the team  :D

Well that turned well didn't it, bad errors, Alli seems to be making quite a few brain farts these days. Thinking now did we make a mistake letting go Kelleher. I know it was their turf but them lot did get spanked by Villa recently.
