Liverpool Football Club - Games

The score v arsenal doesnt mean much.  It was never a 3-0 game.  Can see us getting a point but cant see us winning there.

You shouldn't go mate, then. We cannot afford you being there this time..It's a must win game.  :wwww

As it stands :

3. Arsenal P18 PTS 38 (GD +27)
4. Tottenham P20 PTS 37 (GD +20)
-------------------------------------------------
5. Aston Villa P19 PTS 35 (GD +12)
-------------------------------------------------
6. Man City P19 PTS 35 (GD +11)
7. Birmingham P20 PTS 32 (GD +2)
8. LIVERPOOL P19 PTS 30 (GD +11)
9. Fulham P19 PTS 27 (GD +5)

If villa win they'll push themselves further ahead in terms of points (eight) and GD (+2 for every goal in the margin ie 1-0 = +2, 2-0 = +4 etc) We're already seven points behind spudz, we can't really afford to draw even :

DRAW >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

4. Tottenham P20 PTS 37 (GD +20)
-------------------------------------------------
5. Aston Villa P20 PTS 36 (GD +12)
-------------------------------------------------
6. Man City P19 PTS 35 (GD +11)
7. Birmingham P20 PTS 32 (GD +2)
8. LIVERPOOL P30 PTS 31 (GD +11)

Just a 1-0 win would look like this >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

4. Tottenham P20 PTS 37 (GD +20)
-------------------------------------------------
5. Man City P19 PTS 35 (GD +11)
-------------------------------------------------
6. Aston Villa P20 PTS 35 (GD +11)
7. LIVERPOOL P20 PTS 33 (GD +12)
8. Birmingham P20 PTS 32 (GD +2)

Defeat would be unthinkable, a win would put us in touch with spudz but I think Arsenal are set to make Chelsea and the mancs look nervously over their shoulders and maybe surprise a few people. Citeh have to be seen as a threat, winning 3-0 at Wolves when we could only beat the same opposition 2-0 at home and only when facing 10 men.

If Rafa is to fulfil his guarantee then we need a run of wins, plain and simple. Our next five could shape our season :

villa (a)
spudz (h)
Stoke (a)
Wolves (a)
Bolton (h)
bitters (h)

We play Citeh on 21st February, game after we go to the Emirates. But those above six games we need to be winning most if not all of if we want fourth. Even then it might take a win at COMS to put us in box seat.

Without Mascherano and the problems that were present in the last games I cannot be too confident. The team needs more than a victory to shake off their anxiety.

But the optimist there's in me also see this as a big opportunity to become this game a turning point in the league.

Come on red men!

Looks like the games off due to the snow.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

seems they think its going to be by tonight......going by SSN.I think they are thinking that by the time the snow gets bad the roads will be in use and clear, tends to happen like that when it snows during the day, the game could get called off during the games if they can not see.

not like the old day, dont see that anymore.
I was at a Southend game when you could not see the game and the snow was coming down so bad, the Ref held the ball for 5 mins and as soon as he could see the players he let it play on, the fans in the stand could not see nothing and missed 2 goals lol.

the week after they had a game that was thick mud, the ball would not run but yet thy still had a game.

not like that anymore with all the money in the game....or are players too soft now?

got no snow down here, love some more snow before i go back to work.

Tough one to call but the wise money is on Villa, only lost once at home in 9 games as opposed to 5 defeats in 9 for us away.

We may scrape a draw but I don't see us winning this one.
