Who will rafa buy?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Rafa says that he would like to buy more players this month which brings me to my question, who do you think he will buy? A month ago we were linked with David Villa and also there is Nicholas Anelka. I would like to see us sign a quality midfielder and another good proven striker.

Rafael Benitez has not ruled out the possibility of making further additions to his squad before the end of the January transfer window but added even if he doesn't he is still happy with the squad at his disposal.

The Liverpool manager says the recent signings of Fernando Morientes and Mauricio Pellegrino will improve the team but also admitted if funds were no object he would make further additions. Benitez was also keen to point out that even if he is unable to add to the squad before the end of January that he is fairly happy with the players he has.

Benitez said: "We have signed Pellegrino and Morientes and I believe they will improve the team for sure because they are experienced players and they are winners.

"We have lost 1-0 to Manchester United and Chelsea recently but no way did we play worse than them. They both have a better squad with more senior players and more expensive players. They have spent a lot of money and we know that we we need to try and control the market and scout all the time and try and find the best players for us in the future."

i think we are abit short in the midfield. besides gerrard and maybe alonso.. we do not have that attacking ablility in the central midfield role. biscan cant make it, hamman no, and even worse , diao..! even if we have alonso back , we are still short of a attacking minded midfielder.. dun have any one in mind.. maybe someone like scholes.. but hate him..

I think we need strong and good defender. When I compare Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U defenders and us (Liverpool defenders) the only one thing that they have defenders who can tackle strikers or midfields so strong until the strikers and midfield don’t dare to “take them again” or too afraid to take on them again. Their tackles just like a warning to the strikers that telling them if you can “take on “ me again, I will break your leg .

We need that type of defenders. Defenders who can “bite”. Just like pit bull, the first few times you can play around with him but after that he will bite you.

The combative qualities of pit-bulls are well documented. They are however, somewhat averse to understanding the zonal-defensive system. If we are going to persist with Rafas dream system (which incidently I think we should) then I would recommend a couple of sheepdogs as opposed to pitbulls. They would be able to get their head round the latin mentality of the restrictive ploy no problem.

And who would Arsenals pitbull defender be ???
And while i'm thinking about it who is chelseas?
Maybe Heinze at Manure is the only one who can have that said about him!
Infact in JC we have exactly that kind of player, not dirty but definately strong in the tackle when needed!

For Arsenal is their both left and right defenders . For Chelsea is John Terry and the other centre defender and MAN U is four of them .

I thin our defense looks pretty good.

I would play JC at Right back
Sami and Pele at Centre back
and John Arne Risse at Left back

All in all pretty impressive.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
