Jim is right on the money. If you track his posts back you'll find thats not a surprise, he normally is. I just think if you contrast this thread with Johnny Mac's Hairdresser one, you'll see the difference between totally pointless, and totally pointless but nonetheless really interesting. People of course can post what they like and nobody has to reply or read the threads but you do get the same stuff done to death.
It almost forces you into a sarcastic response which is unnecessary, for example my silly reply earlier on this one about bulldogs and sheepdogs or whatever it was. With all due respect to anybody on here, I don't care in the least who they think we will buy. I DO care however about the reasons that they think we SHOULD buy a player, or if they have access to a piece of information which suggests that we are about to sign somebody. Some bod coming on here and saying "I think rafa will sign Potentialo, a 16 year old at racing club Rekjavic" based on Champ Man form is not really that interesting though.

well its not the same really.

Mick telling of his desire to buy someone and listing his reasons, is not the same as saying, "who do you think we will buy?"

how do you answer that question, it would be just speculation. if you asked that questionn hours before the morientes transfer, then you could answer, "Morientes" but what would be the point of that, as its obvious we have a good chance of getting him?

also, Mick doesnt keep starting threads on it. his reputation is that of a "thoughtful poster" therefore what he says gets listened to. if people keep posting ******, what they have to say becomes meaningless, their posts dont get read and the forum goes downhill.
