i cant see why people are flying off the handle, did they really expect us to be following the type of pace chelsea are setting? it takes years to build a title winning side especially when the team you inherited were a long ball outfit devoid of confidence that hadnt turned around a one goal deficit in two years. benitez has already performed a miracle and given time i expect he`ll peform a lot more but he needs time to iron out the creases in his side.
i know this might come as a bit of a shock to some fans but we actually used to lose you know, even in our glory days, and quite often we`d be well off the pace at christmas only to pip teams at the line. losses are all part of being a fan and god only knows we`ve seen a fair few since 1990 so why the big drama now. i can deal with them as long as i think we are progressing and under benitez i think we are so i`ll reserve judgement until the seasons end at least.
i agree mate.. it does take time to build a squad, plus its one game, so it isn't the end of the world! January comes and we get 2 or 3 players, next summer, the likes of traore and Kewell leaves and other 5 players come in. Benitez wants to work with players he buys.
Benitez started out with a formation of 4-3-3 today, then reverted it in the 2nd half. he is trying every possible way to win the game, but i don't think all of the players were up to winning!
