I was thinking the same thing but he is not 100% fit yet. Might need 1-2 more games off the bench to come back to full match fitness.

If it's a question of match fitness, instead of bringing him on in a desperate attempt to get something out of the game (which we nearly did) why not start with him and bring him off sometime in the 2nd half if he began to fade ?

Ive said this in another thread, what is the point of resting him for 45 minutes only to bring him on second half?
If Rodgers is a visionary and forward thinking then surely he must get himself out of this old fashioned, detrimental thinking?
Play your strongest 11 then bring them off if and when the job is done

Its good management to bring a player on in the 2nd half if he has an issue with his fitness as he will be playing against players who have already been playing for 45 mins. Onwards and upwards foe Sturridge. Well in lad
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Well, he has only played 90 minutes, and it is of course early days, but he looks a bargain at £12m!!   :buttrock

If he can develop what looks like becoming a great partnership with Suarez we could be a real force going forward.

I was talking with a business colleague who is a staunch United fan born and raised in Manchester the other day about Sturridge and he says that Liverpool's
shrewd business in scooping Sturridge mirrors United buying Dwight Yorke and could have the same effect on Liverpool's resurgence .

Thoughts ?

2 goals in 2 games is great we have Norwich Next at home. He should be given a start and if he scores it will give him a massive confidence boost and thats all he really needs is a chance to show his talent.

i dont like comparing us to that lot but i agree that sturridge could be a shrewd bit of business at that price.
this is what i expected from sturridge because he aint no newbie and should be comfortable at this level. we needed goals and he has all the signs of delivering plus he looks to have an understanding and relish's the chance of partnering suarez which can only benefit us in the long term.
i believe they could excel the partnership of cole and yorke over time but its very early to say if that could be enough to bring us to a title.
one thing for sure is that they will make teams fear coming up against us which is something we have failed miserably at.

The only thing that worries me is that both Sturridge and Suarez are a bit selfish players. But maybe that's a good thing. We have enough players that would rather pass than shoot.

I think Daniel could prove to be our most influential player since Benitez bought Torres ,how we managed to hook a 23 yr old England international who has
been prolific where ever he has been ,and for a paltry 12 Million ,is a stroke of genius on Liverpool's part .

we desperately need suarez and sturridge to hit it off as a strike partnership.
if they start ripping up tree`s in the second half of the season it might just convince a few of our better players that there is something building at anfield and it might be worth hanging around another season to see what happens.
if this great start by sturridge is a false dawn god knows where that leaves us then.

Sturridge the first #LFC player since 1974 to net in each of his first three games. The last man to do it? Ray Kennedy

Daniel Sturridge is now our joint 3rd top scorer in the league this season, after only 104 mins on the pitch (via @AnfieldIndex)
