Was surprised to hear Owen actually come out and say he wants back to the Pool + am not sure it was the best thing for him to do - Either he knows Rafa is interested in taking him back OR he is stating his desire to return to the club in public to increase fan pressure on Benitez to sanction a deal.

RAFA, Find the money you have seen what the strikers we have can do, which is not much. 20 goals a season pure premiership class. Sign him please.!!!

From BBC website his morning:

Real Madrid's Michael Owen wants to return to Liverpool but is prepared to spend this season on loan at Newcastle if a move to Anfield cannot be agreed.
Madrid have promised to help the 25-year-old England forward return home to boost his World Cup hopes.

"I said that my ideal situation was to start the season in the Real Madrid team and if not I would prefer to return to Liverpool," Owen said.

"If the transfer cannot be finalised in time I have agreed to go to Newcastle."

C'mon Rafa, bring Mickey home - god knows after last night's display we need him!

Does it bother anyone that he is saying ideally he would like to stay in Madrid. Sounds like we are second choice, don't know how comfortable i am with that

Apparently the deal won't cost Liverpool as much as we all thought as I heard on the radio that we still haven't receievd all the money from REAL for the Owen transfer in the 1st place.  Apparently the report said that if Owen was to come home it would only cost us around a million or two in actual cash to pay back the instalment that we've recieved.

Does anyone know the circumstances under what he left.
Was it him wanting to leave or Rafa wanting rid??
Maybe Rafa just doesn't want him and the board nor fans will sway him in that!

Are was it in Gerrards new deal that they get MO back if he became available?

This is doing my head in!

are you a marseille fan? if so, who would you rather have on loan - cisse or morientes?

No Marseille Fan, only french fan of Djibril.
I prefer Cisse on loan because he was born near Marseille and I prefer is game so funky against Moro

Owen is born to play in Liverpool.  :bowdown
