Been trying to come with a song for him, but his name is really difficult. Had this one though:

To the tune of "Louie, Louie" (chorus) by the The Kinks (or Motorhead depending on your taste).

Fer-Nan-Do Torres
(Lou -i  -e   Louie)
Whoa-o Yeah, He scored a goal
(Whoa-o Baby, I   gotta   go)
Ei, ei, ei, ei ,ei
(Ei, ei, ei, ei, ei)

If if you haven't heard "Louie, Louie", get it now. Any version is well worth it.

Fernando Torres is set to sign for Liverpool in a club record £24 million deal, but what is all the fuss about?

Despite being 23, Madrid-born Torres is still affectionately known as "the kid" on account of his boyish looks. But he has been scoring goals for Atletico Madrid since the age of 17 and boasts an international record of 14 in 40.
One thing should be made clear - yet to score 20 Liga goals in a season, Torres is no Robbie Fowler. The former England striker, who left Liverpool for the final time at the end of the last campaign, boasted one of the most fearsome goals-to-games ratios in English football during an analogous phase of his career and was renowned for being able to hit the target from pretty much anywhere despite not being the most physically blessed striker.

Torres, for all his undoubted skill and oft-displayed flair, is a grafter and not a poacher; a junior Drogba, if you will. Despite his tender years he has led the line for and shouldered the responsibility of being the talisman of one of Spain's biggest clubs, playing up front on his own or with a second striker, running the channels, taking penalties and generally putting his body on the line for the club he supported as a boy and, by all accounts, still does. The pressure of playing for Liverpool is unlikely to affect him - he was handed the honour of the club captaincy at just 19 years old, at around the same time as when he was called-up for the national team.

"El Nino" is a good athlete; quick, flexible and determined. Standing at 6'1" his naturally slight build is strengthening with age, although he will need to spend more time in the gym on arriving at Anfield as the physical rigours of being a Premiership target man are far greater than in La Liga. He spends as much time with his back to goal as he does running with the ball and he will have to be able to withstand the uncompromising attitude of the likes of Nemanja Vidic and John Terry.

Good - but not excellent - in the air, Torres' main threat comes when running at defenders on the break, which will suit Liverpool's style of play. His ability to turn is one of his key strengths and he is as likely to weigh-in with a tap-in from six yards as he is a 30-yard screamer into the top corner.

The main criticism of Torres ironically emanates from his natural loyalty - his repeated decisions to remain at under-achieving Atleti despite alleged bids from Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona have arguably restricted his development as a player, with many believing that if he had stayed at the club this summer he would have started to rot.

It remains to be seen how he will adapt to life in the north of England - Liverpool's Spanish-speaking contingent will help him settle but he is Madrid born-and-bred and will no doubt experience initial pangs of homesickness - but he has the current ability to be a hit and the potential to be a legend at Anfield.

These in the certain thing, its main weakness is in the air, but it does not make it absolutely bad. The physical exigency in "La liga" is inferior than premier and for that reason it will need to work hard in the gym. The description of "El Niño" by eurosport is very guessed right (es muy acertada).

I think that Torres is phisically one of the best players in the world.

I hope you enjoy "el niño" as we've done last years.

You know that a piece of our hearts is now with Liverpool, so we like you tell to us the evolution of Fernando in this season.

Thousand of atletico fans are now Liverpool supporters, and you're going to have a lot of spanish people (bad english speakers as me) in your forum.

GOOD LUCK FOR THIS SEASON.

One question: What name are going to have Fernando The kid, The boy or el niño?

Sabre wrote:Now, some questions, right to the point (al grano) for the atletico fans:

1) My main concern of Torres is that he's not a great finisher as far as I can tell. He creates a lot of danger with his pace (velocidad), dribbling (regate) and skill (calidad técnica) but he fails too much when he's on front of the keeer. An Atletico mate said that this season he's improved on this front. Do you lot agree?

2) Torres has been an icon and definitely the star of Atletico de Madrid this decade. Now he won't be the boss of the dressroom and the team won't work for him.

2.1) How do you think he would react under rotation? does he accept well to be sat down in the bench? I don't remember right now if he's been sat down in Atletico this seasons for coach decisssions. Do you think he would accept that? is he a disciplined player?

2.2) Would you consider Torres a bit of a diver? (un poco piscinero?). Be honest, please.

2.3) Some of you have said that in Atletico he hasn't found a proper partner to share the forward positions, the likes of Kezman and Aguero didn't seem to be a proper partnership. What would be in your opinion the abilities that should have a proper Forward partner  of Torres?  (qué características pensáis que debe tener el compañero arriba de Torres de manera que la dupla funcione?)

Thank you!!

Well Sabre, i am going to try answer oyur questions the best i can.

1) I think this is a topic. This year, he has scored the majority of his one to one vs the goalkeaper.

2.1) He never has been sat in the becnh for coach decision, in Atletico de Madrid. Sometimes with the spanish team. But though he is only 23, he think like a person older, and i think that he will accept any deccision, he is a player that never has created polemic.

2.2) I would try to be the more honest possible. He has been one of the player who has recived more hard play of the deffensors, and they say (the other team supporters) that he cries, but IMO he is a lot of times in the grass because his ankles are a struck a lot of times. Can be that sometime he has exaggerated, but usually when he falls is because he has been kicked. I am going to say one thing, in a match against Betis, two years ago, the goalkeaper hit him and broke a rib, the referee didn´t say nothing, it was clear penalty.

2.3) For me, the biggest problem that Torres has had in Atletico, is the next: he had to go to the center of the field, take the ball, leave back some rivals, and score. He work hard by the team, in the last two years he has been the player who more defensive corners has cleared. About how must be is partner... I think that Crouch could be ideal, he can touch every ball. And i think that Kuyt is good too, he moves very well behind the "9" and has a good sense of the play. I would like that Torres play like area forward, but he can play very well behind the forward, like this year, who has played going to the places that Maxi and Petrov used to stay.
