sell his useless

You have no clue.

really ?  What does he being to the side.

His a winger who lacks pace and cant beat a full back.  Not needed.

We've lost Benayoun, a player who has wanted away for a while, and gained Joe Cole who's a far better player. We've also gained 6 million quid, which hopefully we will spend on a good left back (my own preference is for Figuroa).

We've lost Riera, who I quite liked but was a bit of a ponce and whose head was far too square for his own good. We banked a bit of cash as well. We look like getting 5 mill for Insua which is top dollar, and we've invested it in this Danny Wilson kid, and we have a bit of change out of the whole proceedings. We've told Deggen to find a new club, we're thinking about doing the same witht he Greek and Maxi. No probs from me with any of that.

We're selling Masherano who I think is a disruptive influence. Hopefully we'll get top dollar and we can buy some players who actually want to play for us.

We've kept our best two players despite many predictions to the contrary.

Well done Roy, keep up the good work :buttrock .

cant really see how u can say keep up the good work when all were doing is selling players at the moment. Like you i think the money we have earnt has been pretty good for except for Riera but weve only had 2 come in, and weve hardly been linked with anyone else to come in. Im quite worried by the whole situation to be honest, it looks like we could be starting the season with a dangerously small squad

This is my worry aswell , they are selling players left right and centre ,but not replacing them . The main players are staying accept for mascherano , but we do need quality to come in . I don't want anyone to lose sight of the fact that the clubs debts still have to be paid .

Agreed! We need to get some replacements ASAP! Although everyone thinks Figuroa will be unveiled in the next few days, i hope so! Hopefully we can sign players in batches like we did with Jova, Cole and Wilson. Anyway i firmly believe Nando is staying so bring on the season.  :buttrock

One can only conclude that Purslow pushed Hodgson into making the statement at the weekend to crank up the pressure on the player so that it could all be dumbed down a few days later. This comes back to the Americans again I think they'd take £50 million tomorrow if City or Chelski offered it for Torres. I don't think the Torres thing is over not by a long way.

Do you stir sh!t for a living?

Where in any news report or quote did it say that Torres was looking forward to returning to training at the same time as Hodgsons comments saying he could do no more to keep him?

Nowhere you numpty. For we know Torres' comment referring to training could of been made yesterday

I think you'll find that most of the s*** is coming from the PR machine of Hicks/Gillett and not from me.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what I or anyone thinks about what Hodgson says or when he said it. What will matter at the end of the day will be whether Torres decides he'd had enough of the club and it's owners and wants to win things with a club that keeps to its promises. It's very much 50/50 as to him being at the club on September 1 as I see it.

All the speculation shall end soon. Carra said he's sure Torres will stay. Now Roy has said Torres is commited to the club. Torres is our player this season. End of story.

This quote of Igor's was taken from the official Mascherano thread...

Anyway i thought all the players wanted to get a way from rafa , not friggin sign for him again

Many were told that if Rafa left and Roy came in Gerrard and Torres would lead an exodus of players out the door. ???

Right and the summer of seculation from Torres has been all b0llocks has it? I was genuinely worried he would leave and I'm pretty sure he's thought of it as well, as has Gerrard. Granted they haven't left but there was a good chance both of them could have

IAO - stop stirring mate, it's a quote from another thread and with regards to Masch he's right because he wants to follow Rafa

Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing

Give it rest and stop talking out of your hole.

Mash wanted to leave last season, so your conclusion about him wanting to move where ever Rafa is, is boll0cks.

Many on here said that if Rafa left then so would our best players. Scaremongering their way to try and make people believe Rafa was the be and end all of the club. 'He was the only man holding the club together' and all that old tosh, got dished out here on a regular basis. In the end it was proven to be 'pro-properganda': Therefore on the contrary, if I wish to bring up the fact that Torres and Gerrard were apparently off because they couldn't envisage playing under lowly "Woy" I will, especially if little digs are still going the other way, irelavent of what thread it's in.

Gerrard and Torres and been surrounded by a sh!tload of speculation about their futures this summer, how is that talking out of my hole exactly? am I wrong when I say there was speculation?

I honestly think if Gerrard was younger he may have went, his current circumstances don't exactly favour him

Is it really b0llocks though, he's wanted a move for a while granted but he's following Rafa and has been quoted about wanting to follow him
