who agrees with me that we should swap mash for a top striker now. we got enough midfielders to cope. i just got a hunch roys gona go for zamora and thats not good enough for me. bezema would defo be alot better and your not telling real wouldnt be interested in mash.

I never would have guessed that we are looking for another striker considering the embarrassment of riches available to Roy. Your source sure has the inside scoop.

Never doubted that Torres wanted to stay after Gerrard committed and Cole was signed.

Use the money from the sale of Mascherano to bring in a CM and also a Striker and we are a MUCH stronger team/squad to that we finished with last season.

We've lost Benayoun, a player who has wanted away for a while, and gained Joe Cole who's a far better player. We've also gained 6 million quid, which hopefully we will spend on a good left back (my own preference is for Figuroa).

We've lost Riera, who I quite liked but was a bit of a ponce and whose head was far too square for his own good. We banked a bit of cash as well. We look like getting 5 mill for Insua which is top dollar, and we've invested it in this Danny Wilson kid, and we have a bit of change out of the whole proceedings. We've told Deggen to find a new club, we're thinking about doing the same witht he Greek and Maxi. No probs from me with any of that.

We're selling Masherano who I think is a disruptive influence. Hopefully we'll get top dollar and we can buy some players who actually want to play for us.

We've kept our best two players despite many predictions to the contrary.

Well done Roy, keep up the good work :buttrock .

Sorry but on Torres I don't think Roy had much of a say. If his own comments recently were anything to go by it was Purslow doing most of the talking.

The only reason Torres is staying is because he loves the club and wants to give it more time to sell to new owners, get better players in ect... and a new manager too. Hodgsen isn't a long term choice imo.

I'm getting confused again, and it's getting harder and harder to keep up around here.

So, while Rafa was still the manager, the ONLY reason our best players were still at the club was because he was here. The minute he walked out of the door, our best players would follow him.

Then, Roy Hodgson is appointed and it's the biggest joke appointment of the century. The best players would be queueing up to go, and when Masherano reiterated his desire to leave, we got "we told you so" and "it's started". Up to now, I'm following it no problem.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, "fecking Purslow " is doing the transfers. Not that it matters overly, because without any money and with a sh!t manager, nobody will sign for us anyway. Up to this point, I understood everything.

Then, loh and behold we beat Spurs, Man Utd and Arsenal to sign Joe Cole. Apparantly he's had a chat with Hodgson and was very impressed with his plans for the club. This though, is nothing to do with Roy, and besides our previous manager probably would have been in for him anyway. At this point, I'm starting to get a little bit confused, especially when obviously Purslow can't be given any credit either.

Then, Gerrard and Torres decide to stay too, saying they are impressed with the manager. Once more though, this is nothing to do with Roy either. Presumeably "fecking Purslow " talked them into it.

I personally think it's fantastic that these top players are prepared to commit to the club, despite them having absoluitely no belief whatsoever in the manager. Maybe it's because they like the kit or something, Red being their colour and all that.

Presumeably if we do improve on 7th, don't tell me, that's nothing to do with Roy either  ???. So it's only if we don't do any good that he gets any credit for it?

I'm glad our supprters are getting behind him now, I bet it feels great  .

can we not just say 'get in there Nando, thanks for your services for at least another year' rather than trying to fathom his reason for staying?

I couldnt give a fuk if its Purslow, Roy, Rafa's exit or the prospect of sticking it to whiskey nose again that's convinced him, he'll be in a red shirt next season and thats what counts

no no no, it's all LIES!

Torres is going, so's Gerrard, Agger, Reina and Doreen the tea lady. We have NO MONEY and can't afford the wages. And no one in England, or the world, has heard of WOY and wouldn't want to sign for him because he's a nobody.

DOOM, GLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Yeah...i think that's done it.  repeat that post 10,000 and that's how it was around here for 4 weeks.

You're right Greavsie in the sense that it doesn't really matter why he stayed. On the other hand, to me it just seems ridiculous to try and pretend that the manager had absolutely no bearing on his decision. By all means they can slag the manager off, they can say he's sh!t, they can take the p!ss out of the way he speaks etc etc, but surely there must be an element of fairness about the way we debate his tenure.

If Torres is borderline to feck off and then decides to stay after having spoken to the manager amongst others, then surely it is fair to assume that he thinks Roy is OK and up to the job? Similarly, Cole wouldn't sign for a manager he didn't like/believe in, and neither would Gerrard.

Some people are positively besides themselves waiting on the sidelines to put the boot in. It's so sad to see.
