it wont do him any harm to have a season with less games in it to try to regained his fittness and stay free from injury, work hard in the league and get US back into the champs.league for next season - he'd be the hero then.

come on Nando!

The Champions League thing was always going to crop up as an issue. When you are a Champions League team and finish 7th in the league you run the risk of losing your best players, the very real risk as we are now discovering. People don't like to hear it because it naturally casts aspertions onto the previous managerial regime, but top players don't want to play against Macedonian teams in July, followed by countless trips to the oputposts of Eastyern Europe. It is a simple fact of football life I'm afraid.

Yep and that was the big worry for me.  It does not matter that we are Liverpool FC with a fantastic history.  Here and now CL football is everything and with Nando just coming off away with a world cup winners medal, I’m pretty certain his hungry to keep winning the big prizes.   You cant afford to not be in the Champions League these days.  The Europa Cup is a mickey Mouse tournament which nobody really gives a damn about.

I got a text yesterday off me mate who always sends me the team - and is virtually always spot on.
It said Torres IS STAYING. This person is Carra's mate apparantly.

If he does want to go and its an if, i dont think that would be the reason why Mick. Otherwise why Gerrard staying, Cole coming here, Pepe just signed new contract, If he wants to leave ,me personaly i think its far more than that, Last season was a blip a big blip but never the less , No one saw that coming , id defy anyone to say truthfully that at the start of last season they thought we would finish were we did, Yes the manager was to blame as were all the players who played them games, At the moment yes were not in Champions league for next season, but if you look at it the way you have just put it do you think then that Fernando hasnt got the confidence in Roy and the players who are still here and those that have been brought in to get us back in that position at the end of the season. Everyone who has championed Roys appointment has confidence that he will lead us in the right direction and it will be a better season that last year, So if he dosnt wanna just miss out on it for one season does that tell you he dosnt think we will get back there , iff you see what i mean,

I honestly dont see where we finished last season has Fernando making his mind up to go , as i said if he wants out its something else

I don't think it is THE reason if he goes if indeed he does Nan, but I think it'll be in his mind anyway. Ultimately though none of us know, and none of us ever will. Makes you wonder why we all spend so much time talking b0ll0cks about it really, but I'm as guilty as anyone .

Maybe torres is looking at the side as it is and doesnt see a side which will be challenging for the title and getting back in the CL. Wasnt it months ago where he said CL football wasnt the 'be all and end all' but he wanted to see that the club would take steps to make sure we were back challenging.  Were not exactly spending huge amounts of money bringing players in.

If he decides to leaves so be it, I just hope we don't get screwed on price.  Hopefully Hodgson will do a Martin O'Neill on it and name his price and not budge until its met by the highest bidder.
