Ive got a lot of respect for Fernando and think he a very hounourable man, but if he goes to Chelsea then hes not the man i thought he was ,

My thoughts exactly Nan, he took a pay drop to come to Anfield and also said his daughter was going to grow up a scouser but now after a bad season and when the club need him the most to leave would really change my opinion on the lad.

I just want him to come out and quash all this craziness because it's not good for anyone and if he is going to go we need to buy a quality replacement rather than being left in the lurch like usual.

Like a few have said this is the same situation as Gerrard and Chelsea and Stevie said he only wants to win the league with Liverpool and that it wouldn't be the same with another team, surely with all the self confessed love that Torres has for LFC he wouldn't want to win trophies with anyone else other than Liverpool Football Club.

Good points, but consider this too: perhaps it is his love for the team and his desire to win something with it, that is behind his insistence that their be investment in the team. We've done nothing different from the previous seasons- improved an aspect of the first team without raising the quality of the 2nd team and that of the whole squad.

Cole, atbe, is a more talented player than benny; but in the ideal situation, his arrival would mean that benny improves the 2nd squad rather than simply leave cus we have to sell first!

Its the same merry dance with a slight twist...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

I imagine that whilst Purslow was negotiating with Chelsea for Cole, other 'subjects' might have been discussed....... ???

I have a source in Liverpool, he has a hunch Torres is not going anywhere (his hunches are usually nailed on) make of that what you will. :;):
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

Raul would like to play in the English or German leagues. I think he still has a couple of years left and would love to see him wearing the number 7 shirt. Raul's arrival would be enough to make Torres stay.

Nando will stay.... I'm sure of it.

TBH though, I'm not too sure if that's a good thing for us. As brilliant a player as he is, he is at his most effective, IMO, when utilised alone upfront. This limits our flexibility as it'll be very difficult to convince a top flight striker to join us knowing full well, that in all likelihood, he will have to play second fiddle for most of the season.

Then there's his injury record.... which appears to be getting more serious as each season goes by.

If we didn't have the owners that we do, i'd seriously counsel selling him on for the reputed 50-70 million quid and using the proceeds of the sale to purchase 2 good strikers who can work in tandem and are not as brittle.

If we do sell him NOW, though.... I have a bad feeling that the funds will be used to lower the club's debt and not strengthen the squad.

Tell Nando that he's going nowhere....... he still has 3 years to go on his contract after all......

I think the money will go straight to the transfer kitty or majority of it. Forlan & Dzeko could be a lethal pairing.  :D

Why would Purslow have negotiated with Chelsea over Cole?

you cannot worry about BOTH the lack of time for his back ups and his injury record at the same time.

he's a hero, I want this sh!te to stop NOW

If they sign Balotelli surely they won't need Torres as well will they? I meanhow the hell are they going to accomodate these players in their 25 man squad? its fooking crazy, someone cap the kunts, it was annoying when Chelsea did it. Where does it end tho? w@nkers, their wage bill will be forever sky high and nobody can compete with that. The're showing no regard for the decent youth set up they had as well. what a bunch of @rseholes.

rant over
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

the public courting of their targets is getting right on my t!ts as well. They ain't won a fecking this for over 30 years and they're strutting around like footballing Gods. God I hope we batter those w@nkers this season

they actually have some very good players who are going to suffer here as well - Ireland De Jong, Bridge - 3 bad performances there and I reckon they'll have a replacement down sharpish

Imagine Bellamy, Tevez, Adebayor, Robinho in the same team. And they want to ad Balotelli to that!!

Sadly money is with a lot of people who don't deserve it and just abuse having it.

But if our club had the owners citeh do, and had money coming in, would we be saying the same? Some with principles might, but all in all we'd be a lot more optimistic than we have been

The advent of the Premiership and the money came with it ruined football. The mancs made the right moves at the right time, stealing Cantona for £1.5m from the Champions Leeds, buying the best midfielder around from notts forest for £3.75m, bargains in Schmeichel at £500k and Irwin at about the same, and of course having splashed cash on the likes of Pallister, Parker, Hughes etc Their fans wrap themselves up in the myth that they didn't buy the Premiership, that somehow their kids were the sole reason they won umpteen league titles despite the presence of multimillion pound players and being one of the top 2-3 spenders from day one to day six zillion.

But of course they "won everything with kids", the kids being Schmeichel, Pallister, Bruce, Irwin, Robson, Keane, McLair, Hughes and Cantona not to mention Kanchelskis et al  Might have been one or two kids in the side, but it was nothing like THAT side to which Hansen said "you win nothing with kids" since he meant specifically a team with only kids, not what the mancs won the league with.
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
