yeh but thats a spit in the ocean for City - you see how much they're paying Toure? reckon its £55.6m over five years, its absolutely insane mate

For the record though Bav, Torres owes us nothing

If he leaves and we get someone like Zlatan or Dzeko to replace him, then I would not be too upset.  We have to realize that he is damaged goods now, just like Kaka.

Yes he does. Rafa took him from a well known European striker in Europe to the best striker in the world. He owes us. :D

his poor World Cup hasnt helped his value like, I'd demand a feckin shed load anyway because of his importance to us :D

I'd like to think he'll give Woy a chance, he signed an extension not that long ago, how quickly can he change his mind?

If that's the only s**t you can show me then I'd be very worried if i where you. Torres tells some brat that he's staying and you believe it. Do you believe your Mummy when she tells you Santa Clause is real? you made it sound like there was a direct quote to a reputable media outlet form Torres himself. Coz let's be frank. He's not exactly been forthcoming on his future now has he.

I actualy think he will go to Chelsea. Champions league and all that. I'd be down right shocked if he stayed put.

PS. If there is one club in English footballing history who has bought their success it's Liverpool. The older fans among you should know what i meen when i say "Pools Money"

What's the matter. can the pools not afford to buy you titles anymore?

And i guess you would hate to have an Oil rich Arab buy out Liverpool and spend a shed load of cash bringing in top players. Ofcouse you would hate it. It would feel wrong wouldn't it. Buying titles like the good old days.

And You believe everything you read in the news of the world. Now THAT'S funny. Toure is actualy on £110,000 a week. It could rise to £180,000 if we where to win the premier league, FA cup and Europa League.

The fact is though no matter how much our players get. Torres will leave, Gerrard probably will too as will Mascherano and Rat boy has just gone to Chelsea.

Swap you Yaya for Lucas.....

Has he not said "I think Hodgson is a good choice for Liverpool " same as what Gerrard has said - as opposed to what would of be nice "Hodgson is a good choice for US "

Dundalk wrote:Fernando Torres appeared on the verge of leaving Liverpool on Sunday night after his agent indicated the striker is bound for another Premier League club.
Chelsea are at the front of the queue to sign the Spaniard and Manchester City also showed interest before moving on to other targets when they got little encouragement from the 26-year-old.
Agent Jose Antonio Martin said: ‘It is very likely that Fernando Torres will stay in the Premier League, but I cannot say that it will be with Liverpool. We are working on his future but right now you cannot guarantee that he will stay with the English club.’

This is the first real worrying sign that he could be off unfortunately.  It would be hard to watch him play for another English club.  But you know what?  What I said before I still stand by, if any of these players don't want to play for us they can fu.ck off.  And I mean it.  I'm sick of these pansies crying about things not being just how they want it at their clubs.  Clubs not matching their ambitions, don't like the manager, blah, blah, blah.  They're on a hundred grand a week, adored by thousands every week but still it's not enough.  Fu.ck sake there are people losing jobs left, right and centre these days and even worse young lads dying in Afghanistan , but the poor footballers aren't happy.  Fu.ck them then.  The more I think about it the more disillusioned I get with this game, it's becoming a pantomime.

As for Torres, he's probably the best striker we've had at the club.  And I include all the previous club legends in that, he's that good.  He can score every type of goal, is quick, strong and good in the air.  But I've also said before that with the injuries he's picking up on a regular basis he will be past his best before he's the wrong side of 30, mark my words.  And he's 26 now.  It's even possible that he'll never hit the 30 goal mark again, simply because he can't play that many games in a season.  Knee injuries are bad news for players who rely on pace, and hamstring injuries are even worse - he's got problems with both.  He's going to be in trouble soon.

So that said, should we accept a 70mil bid?  Purely based on the Torres situation alone I'd say yes.  But when you look at the bigger picture, ie the message it would send to our fans, other clubs who are circling our other players, our other players themselves who have doubts about staying, then you'd have to say it could be a disaster.  Bottom line is though, if he wants to go then let him go, just make sure we get the right price.
