Can't see Torres leaving us for Man City ... He wanted Champions League football and they can't offer it.
People talk about money, but I think Torres is a man that bases himself on pride, and he loves this club.

I just hope we don't accept a bid, because that might be the moment Torres feels he's not wanted.

Who is this source? Feck sake we don't even have a manager to step in and talk to the lad and meanwhile his people could already be negotiating with Chelsea.

:nod  I believe so too. He spurned offers from some of the biggest clubs in Europe to make the move to us and when it came, he took a wage cut to ensure it happened. You don't do those things if you don't have an emotional commitment to the club and on that basis I believe his preferrence would be to remain with us. At the same time he wants to win trophies and with all the uncertainty surrounding the club you can't be sure what position the club will be in 12 months from now, and I think it unlikely he's going to pass up the best years of his career waiting for the club to itself out. If we don't get our act together sharpish - within the next 12 months or so - then I think there's a good chance he will leave, but it won't be because he doesn't hold deep affection for this club and its fans, it'll be because of events beyond his control.

This is just my opinion, but come the first game of the season Nando will be lining up in a Liverpool shirt, I don't think he is a money grabbing b@stard like some players, he will not jump ship after one bad season. If the same happens at the end of next season then it may be a different case but trust me guys, he will still be here. All this is media bullsh*t about negotiations with Citeh and the Chavs.
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

I'm not convinced he'll go to Chelsea. They'll only make an offer if they think he wants to go there and I don't think he would sign for another english club because of his affinity with Reds fans. Long term if Liverpool don't improve I think he'll go to Italy or Barca before his contract is up but not yet. It's more unclear as far as Gerrard is concerned though.

Torres set to snub world record Man City deal
dAILY MIRROR

Fernando Torres is set to reject a stunning world record deal to join Manchester City - and move to Chelsea instead.

Newspaper reports claim the Eastlands side are ready to pay the Spaniard £200,000 a week to prise him away from Liverpool, but the striker appears more likely to move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are ready to offer £50million for the former Atletico Madrid ace, and he is likely to choose Champions League football over the incredible cash on offer at City.

NOW THIS IS WHY THAT TW.AT BROUGHTON SHOULD BE FECKED OFF STRAIGHT AWAY. IS HE LOOKING FOR A BUYER OR IS HE AFTER OUR BEST PLAYER, HELPING THEM TWO PAY OFF MORE OF THERE LOAN. HE NEEDS STRINGING UP IF ANYONE FROM CHELSEA EVEN MANAGES TO WINK AT FENANDO,
HE WHO BETRAYS WILL ALWAYS WALK ALONE

Firstly there are no quotes so for all we know this could be bs, however the club is in a bad way at the moment and the only 1 who would have stood in the boards way has been pushed off the boat so this could well have some truth. Id like to think that Torres would never play for another English club however if he really does want to go I say we try to do a deal with Barca for a player plus cash deal.

I don't have much faith in Broughton either. Didn't he say a few weeks ago that Torres should probably leave if he wants to win trophies as it's going to take 2 or 3 years to sort us out?

It just gets worse and worse with every day that goes by. Torres, Gerrard and Mascherano. If any 1 of them leave then im sure that would mean the end of the other 2 as well. Perhaps not so much in the case of Masch as he looks like he is on his way out anyway but it doesn't look good. Is Kenny officially caretaker manager then? I hope he flies out to SA soon to speak to him as well as Stevie.

I suspect the delay in getting in a new manager is so Broughton has as little resistance as possible for negotiating Torres' exit. A bit of an extreme guess I know but after seeing how Rafa has been treated nothing would surprise me now.

PS 50Mil you having a laugh? That would get his left foot. I wouldn't expect him to go for any less than 80Mil.

Tonight Skys Guillem Ballague Siad this on the subject of Torres.

1, He’s trying to concentrate on the world cup.

2, Man City have made him an outstanding offer where he would be the best paid footballer in England. The only problem he has is that we are not in the Champions League. But he’s thinking about it.

3, IF Barcelona don’t get Fabrigas from Arsenal then Torres would be the number one target. And he recons Torres would be very interested in that one.

4, Chelsea Have NOT made any offer or talked to Torres or Liverpool but they are watching the situation close.

5, He’s not give up hope in still staying with Liverpool, which confused me a little because they are not in the Champions League either.

Not confusing at all....man city are still a 3rd rate club with a lot of money......it's just a mercenary club ...Torres has more dignity than the likes of Robinho,Barry,Adebayor etc     :D

Also Liverpool could well be taken over this summer. Im sure if those rumors are true then club sources will be keeping him in the loop in regards to doing anything silly.
