When someone is part of a team and continually blames elements of that team for the group's short comings isn't their an old saying? Roy, there's no 'i' in team, but there's a 'u' in c.....

I am sure you wouldnt say Cole has played as well as we hoped since hes been here? Johnson bucked up after some home truths from the manager, even though he said constructive criticism didnt affect him.
Roys too honest for his own good

"Joe has to come to terms with the fact that he has come here after an unsuccessful period at Chelsea with high hopes of taking Liverpool by storm and unfortunately it's not happened," said the Liverpool manager, who will have Steven Gerrard and Daniel Agger available for the Boxing Day game at Blackpool.

"If he says 'Well I'm not playing in my right position', then you'd have to ask him what his right position is. If he says the only place he can play is behind the striker, then he is limiting his chances of playing here.

"We also have Gerrard and [Raúl] Meireles who can play in that position, and at the moment quite often we are playing with two strikers. I would be sad to hear him saying something like that, because he would be suggesting he can't do what he has done so often for England and Chelsea, which is playing in a different position."

Is this the source of your frustration?

I am seriously worried that these prancing primadonnas are thinking they are beyond criticism, even if its blatantly clear to everyone, including themselves, that they are failing miserably to do the job they are being paid a kings ransom to do. i.e. play football.

It was this particular passage that I thought could have been worded considerably better
Daily Express 23rd Dec

“It’s a difficult one for me to answer,” said Hodgson. “I was involved in the discussions with him, but the initiative and the desire to take Joe did come from Christian Purslow, [then managing director] perhaps more so than myself because I wasn’t in the position to say these are the players we should be targeting ,as I hadn’t been offered the job at that point.
“He’s not so much a player I can take responsibility for. I’d have to share the responsibility for Joe, less so than people like Poulsen, Meireles and Konchesky, who are players I was happy to bring to the club.

He is really starting to annoy the f uck out of me now ......... how much longer can this club suffer the indignity of sheltering this condescending arrogant man ....every minute he is here he discredits the club ,the players, and the fans with his ill advised outbursts
the fans really need to know that he is still happy and has no reservations about bringing Poulson ,and Konchesky ,and yet he wouldn't have taken  Cole........

Take credit for Mereiles? Is this bloke for real or does he take us all for complete idiots? He didn't even know what the guy's best position was when he signed him and it's taken him half a season to figure it out. He lumped him out on the right for several games which was a complete farce and even worse than that, later on in that interview he still claims that Mereiles can operate in the hole which we all know he can't.

To be honest mate Ive grown used to our dirty linen being hung out in public.
Gone are the days when everything was kept "in house"
If it works, good. If it doesnt its yet another reason for Roy to go

When someone posted up an article claiming that Purslow had given Roy a list of players he would get rid of, some people took it to be completely believable (aha! he's been interfering! didn't we tell you), so why is it any less believable that he "initiated" the Cole signing? Pretty much all throughout the summer people on here were telling us that Purslow was conducting our transfer business.  ???
