This just shows how little we're feared these days.

Fat Sam

He said: "We have to go and be professional and make sure we can perform at Anfield to our very best.

"If we can then we can cause some problems with the lack of confidence that seems to be there at the moment.

"All the pressure of the takeover and the money situation has obviously affected the team.

"Just like it affected Portsmouth last year, who were relegated."

Allardyce watched on from the stands as Liverpool slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Everton last weekend and is hoping to make the most of the opportunity to compound further misery on with the side currently 19th with just six points after their worst start to a domestic season since 1953.

He added: "Liverpool are below us and how often do you play Liverpool when they are below you? Very, very rarely. We have to take advantage of this situation.

"A lot of their players are not playing to their best. If they start playing to their best it will make life very difficult for us.

"But if we can defend like we did against Sunderland to get a 0-0 draw with 10 men, then we will certainly have a chance."

Mate, don't you have abit of sense of humour? I mean honestly speaking, Roy looks like by grandfather who passed away recently but I don't take offence with the owl pics and references.

Anyone who takes seriously the owl pics (btw I didn't post any) must also take offence at the previous manager being called a fat spaniard waiter and many other things otherwise he will be the biggest hypocrit.

Explain what you mean by vicious Reg  ???

Jeez Ben...... relentless targetting of anyone who disagreed with their views, relentless attacks on the manager (in great length in multiple, multiple posts) over weeks and months etc... Its not and wasnt 'normal behaviour' more attempted cyber brain washing.

Its been mentioned just recently by a few posters so its there for anyone who is sufficently interested to investigate however it bears no resemblence to the style of recent posts - by a far wider audience it must be stated as well.

Thats all.

So in other words they posted their thoughts ?
But their thoughts disagreed with the people that were behind the previous manager.

Isnt that allowed ?
Does it matter how long someones post is ?
Does it matter if they post alot if they feel strongly or passionately about something ?

Why did you use the term vicious ?

The only people that for me have been brainwashed are certain fans, and that was not by saint or bigmick, it was by a previously failed manager  :;):

If Mick and s@int were so innocent last season they wouldnt' have multiple cards issued to them and getting banned now would they?

DISCLAIMER: I don't have any personal vendettas against Mick and s@int because I don't even know them personally. I respect them as very good posters on here and fellow liverpool fans who are intelligent and can make their points across even though most of the time I don't agree with their opinions but that's ok.

I'm afraid there are no angels here mate...

Wait a sec, I was referring to  people who posted these pics and called Roy a ''muppet'' are the same who found it offensive calling Rafa a ''a fat spanish waiter''

Thommo I really do think that from an honourable starting point of wanting to support a struggling manager, you have descended to a bitter place that is reflected in pointless posts made to anyone who critcises Roy.

Nobody in their right mind would want him to carry on after the :censored: performances & tactics, ridiculous comments to press and failure to stand up for our club.

Just get over it pal and let's all get behind the next guy eh.

So I have: "descended to a bitter place that is reflected in pointless posts made to anyone who critcises Roy."?
Oh the Fu*king irony of that sentence. Bitter and pointless are the two key words in there, but they should be used for the owl brigade.

So I should "Just get over it pal and let's all get behind the next guy"?
Who the fu'ck is the "next guy" pray tell?
Kenny? Rijkaard? O'neill? Or (god forbid) Benitez? These are the names being repeated ad nauseum by those super fans who know what theyre talking about.
Every little thing is being used to criticise Hodgson and frankly its infantile, classless and boring. We got a decent result against a decent team last night. It wasnt spectacular, but it was effective. I remember many a mundane evenings football in europe under Benitez. So what? Thats the way things are. And as far as the "Torres disgrace" I see shrek is staying at the skanks so we can all sleep peacefully in our beds again.
While others are talking sh'ite and taking the pi'ss, then why shouldnt I?

This thread boggles my mind;

Anti Rafa-Pro Rafa, It's All Rafa's fault, no, it's Stevie G & Carra's, not it's the Posse!

A few of us now being called the "Posse" are being vilified for what the rest of you can see but are not willing to either accept as fact or are willing to brush under the carpet.

Roy Hodgson is NOT THE ANSWER!

We haven't got a Pattern of Play, We play too deep, We invite the opposition forward to attack us, We have no belief anymore in our own ability, We have a mindset of mediocrity that stems from the Manager and his tactics, We only start playing when we're 2-0 down.

We have a Manager who, at present, is only too willing to accept defeat or a mediocre 0-0 performance..... because he's never Managed a Club and a set of Fan's with a "Winning Mentallity", we the Fans have even been decried for this, that our expectation's are too High, I openly disagree, my expectations aren't to high for Christ's sake, maybe the Managers are too Low!

People can spout he's managed big Club's, Inter twice, but he got Sacked Twice! He Managed Blackburn Rovers with most of thier Premiership Winning squad, to where we are in the League now! Bottom Three!

We have had the worst start to a season in living memory, We have not played attractive football, let alone Football, it's boring and above all else predictable, every game we have played we seem to fear the opposition far too much, and when we do get beat, according to Roy, it's as if we've played World Beating Opposition in every Game, Blackpool, and Northampton spring to mind, there's two World Beating Football Team's if ever there was.

Don't mind being called names, dont mind being pigeonholed as a member of the "Posse", don't mind being vilified for going against "The Liverpool Way" cause i know we're right.

What i do mind is sticking with Roy Hodgson until it's too late, Too late for someone else to pick up the pieces of a shattered season, too late for someone to turn it around and at least get us European Qualification for next Season, too late until our best players turn around and say "We want a Transfer"!

If you truly believe in Roy, i pity you, your'e clinging on to a dream that doesn't exist, if you're clinging on to "The Liverpool Way", it's time too move on and accept that this Manager hasn't got what it takes.

We need Champions League, Roy wouldn't deliver this even if he was playing PS3 from now until the end of time!

It was a bad move appointing him, i thought that from day one, little did i know my prediction would be so bad for LFC in such a short time.

So Yes i'm a member of the "Posse", I want him out Yesterday, Why, because he just isn't good enough to Manage LFC.

I've read a good few pages of the posted 250+ on this thread, I know where i stand and i know why, no-one yet who wants him to stay has offered up anything concrete on why he should............Good Luck on that one!

Just for you ben

Courstesy of tonyh

If Torres and Gerrard stay, I cannot see Mr Roboto moving away from his beloved defensive 4-5-1 system...

Courtesy of hiemdall

OK let me give my reasons why I want rafa to leave first.

1) He has been backed by the owners with enough funds and has mostly bought the wrong players and focussed on the worng areas.

2) He is tactically inflexible.

3) He is tactically naiive against supposed weaker opposition and plays far too defensively.

4) He continues to play his favoured players even when it is obvious to everyone else they shouldn't be playing.

5) He is a meglomaniac control freak.

6) He never ever shows any emotion when we score a goal.

7) He comes across as a retard in television interviews, constantly repeating the same answer.

8) hmmm..... I'm sure there are more things but that will do for starters.

Oh dear , i wonder who posted this

I actually don't think it would be someone of Magleish or Hodgsons "standard", although I do think even if it were they would both do a better job than Benitez. Birmingham need to win their game in hand to move within two points of us in the league. They have a first team which cost a similar amount of money to Aquilani, and have been excellently managed all season. Fulham may ultimately perish at the last 16 stage of the Europa Cup (mind you so might we) but by any measure, Hodson has done a marvellous job.

I've never been one who holds the view that someone necessarily has to have an exotic sounding name in order to be successful myself in any case. It's about ability, and rather than worrying too much about all that we may as well consider only managers who would have been capable this season of bettering a record of 15 defeats. My guess is that the bar isn't exactly sky high and that many of the names which are thrown up as a p!ss take could do a comparable job with the total debacle which has been this season.

Ultimately, the current manager isn't up to the job it really is as simple as that. That doesn't mean we shouldn't get rid of the owners, or that we haven't been a bit unlucky with injuries, but none of that obscures the glaringly obvious. Any new manager may also not be up to it, but as the current one clearly isn't I am unconcerned and unworried about making the change, which we surely will at the end of the season.

My guess is that we will get a well known manager who will get everyone except those who are gutted that they weren't able to claim they were right all along excited. Ultimately, it is almost beyond comprehension that he could do worse than the travesty of football we have endured this time around.

More from mr insightful

People have been carded and banned before for posting an opinion about the managers future in threads where they weren't supposed to. I'm not advocating that course of action of course as it was as utterly ridiculous then as it would be now, but this thread as RIW pointed out is not really about the ownership of the club.

As I said earlier, you can bet your life that each time the team underperforms to an extreme level (and defeats to Wigan and Lille certainly come into that category) then stories of a horrific nature about the future of the club hit the headlines. If it's not some mad Thai who is going to buy the club, it's some Arab who likes kicking the sh!t out of people. It's always either that, or the club have been talking to Glen Roeder as a potential new candidate for the managers job as he's the only one in World Football who'll take it on.

I don't buy it. Get a top manager in and tell him he has zero money to spend, but he can keep the players he already has. We'd launch a sustained title challenge next season, new owners or no new owners.

The days of football managers being given bucketloads of cash to spend are largely over. If Rafa had spent the 20 million quid which he spunked on Aquilani a bit wiser, we might now look like a better team than we do. Any top manager would come to Liverpool, hopefully if the job does come up we get somebody really special

Big Niall

Benitez is talking shiite to try and take people's minds of hte krap job he is doing.

I agree With Ronnie Whelan - sack him now and give Dalglish 5 months to inspire the players until the end of the season and take it from there.

I imagine the players can't stand Benitez, he is annoying and unlikeable and I don't think any player feels any personal loyalty to him.

and again

Why?

Why back a lousy manager? too many people think supporting a manager is the same as supporting a club. When the wrong man is in charge he must be fired - otherwise Souness would still be here.

The manager is rubbish - going nowhere - and a draw with stoke is now a reasonable result, so low are the standards.

more

You are full of sh@te!....you neanderthal!....go and bury yer head in the sand like you av been doing for the past 6 years....people like you are blind to reality and live on planet Zog.........in Rafa we RUST!. :nod

Dear oh dear. After six years of posting, this is the most abusive posts about the manager you could find, and this was meant to disprove the point .

THE most abusive bits in the three posts you've sourced there from me is where I describe last season as a "total debacle" (which it demonstrably was), and indicated that I didn't think the previous manager was up to the job.

Abusive    . Not a fat spanish waiter in sight. I never ever abused the previous manager, and frankly having seen people get carded because they said they hoped we lost in the Europa League Cup as it was unimportant compared to the league, I am absolutely certain that any abuse of even a similar nature to the stuff the current manager has had to endure would have resulted in an instant ban.

Yes people would look now at my claim that any new manager would do better and find an argument, but once again we haven't got the "same players as we had last season", and even the ones we have still got (most notably Torres) are a long way from being the same players we had last season in many ways. But by all means criticise the opinions which were ventured, criticise the thoughts as being proven wrong, but don't by any stretch put me in the same bracket as those who are openly abusing the Liverpool manager of today, mocking him, despising him and jumping on his every move.

As I've already said, I'd change the manager as well. I'd do it simply because he isn't going to win the majority of fans back no matter what he does. That doesn't change the fact though that the way most of them have behaved has been nothing short of a disgrace. People can hide behind the pack mentality all they like, they can mock and abuse me all they like, but I don't give a feck. They have been totally out of order, and continue to be totally out of order. Best fans in the land? Do me a favour.

Stick your "Mr Insightful" n'all Igor, totally uncalled for.
