I am taking what he said seriously mate - it is good they are happy in training but it will mean nothing until they translate it into their performances on the pitch and get the confidence back while playing - that's where we want them to be happy - playing games .

its going to take time before Hodgson can translate his ideas on the pitch. Some being very critical of Hodgy lately. I think some of the comments towards him lately are slightly harsh. He's only just got here and played a few games. Let's be honest, the performance against Arsenal left me very optimistic about his tenure. Yes there's the City game but that wasn't helped by Masch's dummy spitting. I'm willing to forget that result for now and hope that another pasting doesn't come our way soon

the start we've had isn't a terrible one given our run of fixtures, after the Mancs it eases up a bit and we can see what Hodgson can do with a fairer run of games. It was never going to be easy no matter who was boss, they need time if they're going to go anywhere though.

Granted I'm not optimistic that it's all going to be rosy but he's the manager of LFC and deserves to be given time. I can always ask how Rafa would have done BUT he isn't here and after 6 years at the helm I'd fully expect him to do better, but would he really? (please don't answer that  :D )

He is going to be given time mate - as been said by numeours people mate no is going to ask for him to be sacked or anything of the sort - people are just pointing out what they think are mistakes and the things they want to see changed .

that's fair enough but any reading into Agger's words is slightly over critical, that's all I'm saying.

and you two give it a rest, sort it by PM (I'm not getting involved by saying that btw  )

Rawkites  whatever

When you look at our team sheet compared to Birmingham on Sunday we should not only have expected to win but to win comfortably

First issue, you don't expect to 'just turn up' and win matches I thought modern day football fans would realise this by now. Secondly you can't 'just turn up' and expect to win against a side with the best home record in the league, it doesn't work like that.

there was not a single position where we were inferior - if Hodgson was expected to deliver more from less than surely the expectation should have been a win? So why the acceptance of mediocrity?

I don't believe Hodgson did accept mediocrisy not after reading his interview today. How many times in the past have we heard 'we controlled the game and played very well' after coming away from a 0-0 draw. Hodgson does his interviews differently, he doesn't mind applauding the oppo - read of it what you will. But Hodgson isn't going to start slating our performances in the press and interviews he's just come into the club and it's hardly proffesional to hear the gaffer telling an interviewer his players were s.*i*e today.

Against WBA we struggled to a win but were still largely second best again against  a team who on paper should have been battered and lucky to score nil. We have players who are extraordinarily better than theirs - ignoring systems and tactics and settling in - why is it acceptable to be outplayed at home by an inferior side?

Is this fella a Newcastle fan expecting miracles from the off?

Every poor performance under Rafa that came with a win wasn't scrutinised like this, you can start to see the 'Rawk supports Rafa' post here, or the irony of it. Rafa's at Inter his team aren't performing extraordinarily at the moment, he's settling in still but he's afforded luxury to do that because he was the 'messiah' here once and now we've got a 63 year old Englishman with a speach impediment who's got no chance of winning the CL in his first season - to make him go down in history as beyond being critiqued.

At the end of the day it was 3 points against WBA - I'm sure Roy is sorry it didn't have a Harlem Globetrotter performance to it, but Roy is on a hiding to nothing.

The minimium we expect is hard work and the courage to try.

It appears accepted that our players are treading water but I thought Roy was brought in to breathe new life into the team?

Luckily he said 'appears' otherwise it could have been deemed as fact.

I've always thought Liverpool can win any game against anybody but the people in charge appear to want to tell me what I should believe - they want to change what I grew up believing - what for me was the Liverpool way - that together we can succeed whatever the odds  - its not about anything other than belief - its not about millionaire players or wage bills its about a belief in ourselves - we dont have any god given right to be successful - its hard bloody work and the single mindedness to succeed.

Hasn't he contradicted himself here 'we don't have any God given right to be successful' yet 'expect' to go to places like Birmingham and win. If you've lost the guts and bottle to believe then that's your problem sunny, I'd rather keep my faith with most of the players and the manager.

its not about $£ - its not even about pass and move -  its about belief in the club in ourselves that we are the greatest club in the world  - the board and the manager have betrayed that  - its unforgiveable.

Fecking disgraceful IMO the manager has betrayed what exactly? When Rafa constantly whinged in the press saying we don't have the money to compete with the others and shedding light to the 'rea'l fans he was showing us that he was believing? f.ucking give over. Roy's been here 5 mins and he's a disgrace to 'call it as he see's it'. This agenda along with the rest of the pillocks on Rawfite is certainly taking shape here, the fella's still bitter Rafa's in Milan sunning it up!

my expectation is that Liverpool football club is the greatest football club the world has ever seen - i've sung it often enough - not great because of trophies or ££'s but because of its spirit and its belief in itself - the jokers in charge have no clue and I include Uncle Roy in that - some of the platitudes he's come out with  are a disgrace - homespun wisdom my @rse he's playing us like a fiddle and I aint buying it - we may not finish first or 4th - do Stoke and Bolton and Blackpool give up because of that? do  they expect the champions league - no they fight for 3 points every game - thats all that we should be worried about - one game at  a time - 3 points fight for your life come off the pitch having given everything -

He's sounding like a right k.unt now.

we just aint doing it - players, manager, fans - its not good enough to 'not be disapointed with a draw', its not good enough to 'not expect the title' - I dont expect a title - I expect the players to try and win every bloody game - we need leadership on and off the pitch

The end of the world is nigh, 'uncle Roy's' been at the club for 6 years and is still happy with a draw, ffs someone put a dummy back in his mouth the whinging pr.ick, sounds like he expects the world now Roy's in charge. Yet I bet he was satisfied with some of the dross we served up last season resulting in a 7th finish. I'd love to here his excuse for that. What happened to supporting the manager and giving the bloke a fair fecking go.

Good post? That post is riddled with bitterness and because it's Roy's fault the club has no money and he's acting a disgrace (apparently) liverpool 'fans' are moaning that we''ve signed this fella, probably just because he hasn't got an 'exotic' name. I tell ya what that site is a fecking joke and in truth a fecking embarrasment, they'd be many on there telling him (Ciggy included) 'good post la' when infact it just oozes bitterness and nothing more.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

Yes, let's start an inquest into all potential alter-egos.  That should work out very well for you.  ???

Here's a thought--post about football and leave the personal vendettas out of it.  Last warning.

You did last season though.

no she didn't... I remembered she was very critical of rafa...

Thanx mate for remembering this lot think I loved last season when I was as angry and dissappionted as everyone was.
To go from 2nd to 7th was dumbfounding.

With respect I have got no personal vendettas.
I give my opinion like anyone else. Some people I agree with, some I dont. Much like everyone. I am not abusive and called anyone names or threatened them.
Why I should be warned I have no idea

No, you prefer to wind people up, which disrupts discussion and encourages others to do the same.  This board could do with much less of that kind of posting, hence the warning.  It applies to others who like to play the WUM from time to time as well.  Leave it out.

The only way these arguments are going to stop is when people accept that other people have different opinions to theirs, without being insulted.

The Rafa debate is actually quite boring now people keep bringing him up and the 7th place finish for a bench mark for Roy, why dont people use the 2nd/3rd/4th place finish for a benchmark for Roy? Because it doesnt suit their agenda.

If people think Roy should not have been given the job they are entitled to say it and not be called a kunt or disgrace of a fan or be told to go and Support Inter its very immature/childish/idiotic behaviour from grown men, last time I checked we had something called "freedom of speech" !!!!

These little camps people have set up is also pathetic your on a forum not at friggen Glastonbury, knock it off and the arguements will dissappear, have your own opinion instead of quoting your camp mate with the following smiley of spot on  :buttrock.

Wrist slashers/high fivers/ Rafalite/ Happy clappy brigade, I mean come on if you said any of them words to your to your mates or family they would think you are a bad knobhead, as these internet words resemble LOL & PMSL and you wouldnt say that to anyone in real life would you so why say it here?

People agree with others and some disagree but whats happening here is the selfmade "anyone but Rafa camp who bought their tickets last year" say one single word against Roy they have had it, dont you dare critise Roy WHAA WHAA WHAA followed by the replies from the same posters who dont actually think Roy is the bees knees but you will be fucked if they will admit it to you or anyone else for that matter because the 4 person tent becomes 3 and so on and so fourth.

I just prefer people to be honest and explain the situation as it is, because the more these people continue jumping on some posters for "Shock Horror" having their own opinion  the arguements are never going to end.

Some of you people seriously need to grow up you are grown men for godsake acting like school yard bullies.
