Yep, you can only stop him playing in the event of a loan deal between two clubs. I don't think there wil be any gentlemens agreement to say he can't play either. You can bet the Premier League would have something to say about it if there was. I work with 3 yiddos and they've been in my ear all bloody morning!

Don't worry, he only scored BOTH goals in the 2-2 vs spudz last season. He'll be reunited with his shooting boots at WHL knowing our luck.

I wonder if history decides to repeat itself, if Voronin will be playing for us? How times change, Finnan gone, Pennant out on loan, Voronin out on loan, Riise gone and Kuyt wasn't a starter in that match last season. Btw Voronin scored in that game and the away win at WHL so he likes playing spudz

Robbie Keane is delighted to be returning to a Club he feels is his home having rejoined from Liverpool on transfer deadline day.

The striker describes the six years he previously spent at The Lane as a ‘wonderful' time of his career, and now he is relishing this latest challenge.

Robbie realises the battle we currently face in the Premier League, but he believes the passion he has for Spurs will drive him on to make sure we soon pull away from trouble.

And although he admits his short-lived spell at Anfield was a disappointment, the 28-year-old refuses to look back and is only looking forward to what he hopes will be exciting times ahead.

"I'm delighted to be back at a Club I have very strong feelings from having previously spent six wonderful years here," Robbie told this website exclusively.

"Coming back to Spurs was an easy decision to make because this is my home. Firstly in respect of the Club - but also my house is in the area and everything is set up for me to walk right back into.

"It's funny how football works sometimes and situations turn around very quickly, but I can assure fans I will be giving my all to make sure this Club stays in the Premier League.

"It would have been difficult for me to have gone anywhere else while a Club I have such strong feelings for has this fight on its hands.

"It was a difficult time for me at Liverpool, but there's no point in dwelling on it.

"Now I have the chance to work with a fantastic manager in Harry Redknapp, who has done a great job since he came in, so I am lucky to be getting this exciting opportunity."

On his fifth and final signing of the January transfer window, Harry himself commented: "I'm delighted to have Robbie back. I couldn't be more pleased.

"I think he's a terrific player, a terrific character and just the type of lad we need here.

"He's a leader, he gives his all every time he plays and has great ability. He will be fantastic for us and his enthusiasm will rub off on other players around him.

"The Chairman has been tremendous in backing me and bringing these players back. I know Daniel worked very hard to try and keep Robbie here in the first place and just as hard to get him back.

"Robbie knows what he's doing, you can rely on him, he's a clever player and plays with that enthusiasm."

Although a number of new faces have arrived in N17 since Robbie's departure last July, the Irishman feels he knows the current squad well enough to suggest we can make strides during the final months of the campaign.

"It's been an up and down season for the Club and there's been a lot of change, including a change of manager, but now it's up to us as players to start getting the team up the table," he added.

"It's all very close down there at the minute, and I will be doing everything in my powers to help us pull away from it.

"I'm coming back to a fantastic club with fantastic players. I am well aware of the strength of the squad having worked with near enough all of them!

"I am extremely excited about this new chapter in my career, even though it doesn't feel as if the previous chapter really ended."

And now Robbie must prepare for what could be the debut of all debuts - a North London derby against Arsenal at The Lane on Sunday.

"What a game to come back into! I've played in so many derbies against Arsenal over the years and I'm so excited at the prospect of another one at White Hart Lane possibly being my first game back."

Keane will be happy there with less pressure fighting for minor trophies and the Tottenham fans are delighted with him. Liverpool recovered almost all the money. Happy end. Good Luck Robbie.

English clubs spent a record 160 million pounds ($227.2 million; €177.6 million) during the midseason transfer window which ended Monday, with the biggest spenders being Manchester City.

The total at the close of business beat last year's previous record by 10 million pounds ($14.2 million; €11.1 million), according to figures released on Tuesday by business advisory company Deloitte.

Manchester City, which hired Wayne Bridge, Craig Bellamy, Nigel de Jong and Shay Given but failed to get AC Milan's Kaka in a world record bid, paid out more than 50 million pounds ($71 million; €55.5 million).

City is bankrolled by the oil-rich Abu Dhabi United Group, which took control of the Premier League club in September.

Tottenham, which bought a group of players including strikers Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe, spent 45 million ($63.9 million; €50 million).

Keane came back on Monday after only six months at Liverpool. The Irish forward has also played for Wolves, Coventry, Inter Milan and Leeds, and his transfers have totaled 73 million pounds ($103.6 million; €81 million).

We honestly have to face the fact that he was sold as we couldn't afford the next instalment that was due to be paid to Spurs & that's why they got him back for sweet FA.

Would also explain why no replacement was brought in!!!!

G&H need fookin shooting. (I'll do it myself if somebody can provide the gun but tbh i'd save the 2 bullets and just smash their fat,smug heads in anyway - and explain as i did it i'm only following their example and saving fookin money)

What he cost: £20.3 million

What happened: Keane was caught in the middle of a power struggle between Rafa Benitez and chief executive Rick Parry. Benitez only wanted the Irish international if he could also have secured Gareth Barry, but Parry pressed on regardless with the Keane deal meaning Liverpool could not afford the Aston Villa player. It left Keane without a clear role to play in Benitez's system and the Spaniard, fuming at Parry's actions, with a player he saw as a symbol of his powerlessness.

Who's to blame: Liverpool fans will be inclined to blame Parry for paying an inflated fee against his manager's wishes, but Keane will blame Benitez. He was given just 28 games, many of which he either did not start or failed to finish, and managed just five league goals. Keane would have no doubt liked more time to prove himself at the side he supported as a boy. Perhaps, though, an element of blame should be attached to Keane himself, who never really produced even when he was given a chance.

The future: Expect candles to be lighted, prayers to be offered, incantations to be chanted to protect the two things that now carry Liverpool's title hopes. Forget Steven Gerrard's drive and energy, if Liverpool are to win their 19th league crown, they need both of Fernando Torres's hamstrings in perfect condition. The Spanish international has suffered three muscle injuries this season already and another would leave Benitez with just Dirk Kuyt, Ryan Babel and David N'Gog as senior strikers. Winning the league with that motley crew upfront would be like winning the Champions League with Djimi Traore in defence.

I am not sorry to see him go to be honest.

The one thing I don't understand is, if Raffa has come out and said he has many options upfront and didn't feel the need to replace him, or that he isn't worried about lack of options upfront now * then why buy him in the first place ?

Well it's a huge gamble to reduce our striking options, when IMHO we were already at least one striker light before, and perhaps even two. Most teams these days have AT LEAST three credible striking options, and in many cases four. We only have the one from what I can see (stretching it a bit two if you include Gerrard) so obviously it's a gamble. In my book, either Babel or N'Gog would be fine as one of a four given they are both something of an unknown quantity, but to have them so high up the pecking order is definately taking a punt.

Full marks to the manager for his interview about the selling of Keane, believe in him or agree with him or not at least he's been up front about his reasoning. He's well and truly put to bed the notion which was beginning to gather pace, "Rafa didn't want to sell him, Parry sold him". I think it's fairly clear from his interview that Rafa believed keane was a disruptive influence on the dressing room. He doesn't actually say that (so therefore of course it's only my opinion, I don't know it 100%) but that's how I read it. He acknowledges that he's taken something of a gamble, but obviously thinks that the plus side of removing Keane from the inner circle is worth the potential heartache.

Obviously whether or not he was justified in his feelings about Keane we will never know, and equally whether or not he would have been better off ignoring the disruption in order to give us more striker cover we will never know either (or at least we won't until the end of the season and see how we ended up). I totally disagree with the decision in that I think in the short term interests of our title challenge we should have put aside any personality clashes and power struggles, but I do respect the manager for taking the decision/gamble and being big enough to admit it was his decision.

My only hope is that it doesn't come back to haunt us. The football Gods work in funny ways sometimes, with FA CUp draws throwing up the most ironic of pairings, players who hit the hieghts falling form grace an equal diustance etc. We have hugely tempted fate by selling Keane, hopefully the Gods of such things, Lady Luck and Instant Karma don't see it as the perfect opportunity to demonstrate their powers once again.
