This whole notion that Keane got Alonso injured with a hospital pass is just complete and utter nonsense. Keane did pass up the shot in the dying minutes of the first half at Preston but he laid it off for Riera, not Alonso. Riera had his shot blocked by Davidson and the ball squirted loose in the box. Alonso tried to get there first but Davidson got up from his sliding challenge quickly and got his tackle in just as Alonso was making contact--that's how he got injured. It's all very clealy visible
HERE starting at about the 1:35 mark. Any suggestion that the blame for Alonso's injury lies with Keane simply reeks of bias towards the Irishman.
Spot on!
But are you surprised that he's been blamed?
Im not...some people on here are so negative about everything they create little scenarios in their heads just for something extra to moan about!

Let's clear one thing up. I don't, unlike many others, look only for the negative in Liverpool FC.
Call it utter nonsense if you like but as the video clearly shows a very highly paid professional footballer lacking in confidence played a totally unnecessary ball and the result, however you want to look at it resulted in an injury to Alonso's foot. We (yes WE) pay Keane a massive amount of money to make the right decisions and complete goal scoring opportunities. He has failed on both counts far to often and his performance against Preston, who let's face it aren't actually setting the Championship on fire, was his worst so far by a very long way. I am not saying that Keane's actions were deliberate and that he went out of his way to get Alonso injured. I am simply saying that Alonso should never have had to take the shot if Keane had done the job WE pay him to do!
I stand by what I said and I do not feel that I am being overly harsh to a player who receives a massive wage and cost a fortune who simply is under achieving and not doing the job we we brought him in to do. Garcia was criticised to the hilt, but not by me, for making too many mistakes but without his CL goals 2005 could have turned out a lot different! Garcia scored 11 goals in 32 CL matches during his three seasons at Liverpool and he was castigated by a lot of supporters so forgive me if I'm getting frustrated with a player that cost more than three times as much and has so far produced very little by comparison. I actually think that Garcia and Torres playing together would have been interesting and saved us £17m - JUST A THOUGHT - I can already feel some of the flack coming in my direction !!!
