I agree that It's looking increasingly likely that Stevie G will stay. However specualation that he "MAY" be going to Madrid and not Chelsea AND the fact that in Xabi Alonso we have one of the very best midfielders in Europe would soften the blow should it happen.

As i stated I don't think he is going anywhere as LFC have all but met his precondition for staying , namely that we are making progress and only the blind and stupid would dispute that LFC are a club on the UP :)

I dont think he will go now, as we have made progress in ashort space of time, and not even really with the personnel the manger wants and has brought in himself.
But if he were to go i wudnt mind if it was to spain, as long as it wasnt to an english rival = chelski, but then again iys not in the Liverpool tradition to sell a player at the top of his game that WE WANT TO KEEP to another english club ie; Keegan,Souness,Rush,Mcmanaman etc;

I think he'll stay so long as a bit more ambition is shown than buying the likes of Peter "Bambie On Ice" Crouch!

Keep your eye's on the scouser at Nob End who ya rejected!! :bowdown

Why would he leave?...he will be leading the team out of Istanbul with a chance to be the 4th captain to ever hold the trophy (after legends like Hughes, Thommo & Souness) and hence became a legend forever. Leave and you are taking a big risk and might end up like little Mikey

I'm sure I just saw an advert on this site for shed's!

Did you build the JJB!

Sorry Mods I'll try to stay on the subject!

But.....

How can you have a second team in Wigan, no history, no fans, rugby town, etc,

Whats the attraction?

I don't get it?

Bet you ain't ever been on the JJB or sampled the delights of Springfield Park?

Back to the thread Stevie G would have to be an idiot to leave the European Champions!!!! :bowdown

good luck to Preston in the playoffs fella. My flat-mate grew up with Richard Cresswell so i've been along with him to watch the last 5 games PNE have played down at Reading. So i've become a bit of a fan.

May even head up to Cardiff if you make it an my flatmate can get Cressy to supply the tickets.

Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has reportedly become a target of Real Madrid for next season
The Reds and England midfielder has been linked previously  this season with a bid from big spending Chelsea, but while that talk has been constantly denied, SPanish giant Real is now said to be poised to make an offer of 30 million Euros.
"Madrid will go to 30 million for Gerrard" Spanish sports reporter for AS reports, but the report added that Liverpool is believed to want as much as a further 10 million Euros.
The report also suggested that 'negotiations between the two clubs, but two days ago - after helping lead the club to the Champions League final - Gerrard told the Liverpool Echo he wants to remain at Anfield
"I've said all along all I wanted was to see the club going in the right direction and this shows we are," Gerrard said.

40 Million Euros huh, no wonder Chelsea opted to leave the chase, and I've always stated that Real would pay anything to have Stevie.

not a shread of truth in it. if Real were after anyone it would be CArra,

best defender in europe today
