i couldnt care who we sign as long as they are better than the ones we are replacing.we have lots of players who should be pushed out the door when the window opens.
the loan players for starters in aqua and cole along with some of the reserve loans like ayala and others who arent going to make it here.add some of the 1st team like aurelio, maxi, spearing, kuyt, bellamy and adam.

the worst thing is that we have the euros this year so business will be slow happening and we start early again in the el so i hope we move quicker rather than later for any new targets.

Regardless of how sht that opening post (opening page for that matter) was, it was always going to be a question that needed answering sooner or later so I'll give it a go anyways. Realistically, we'll probably buy a maximum of 2 top players and perhaps a couple of squad players to replace the ones who will be leaving. Im not going to speculate on how much players will cost because after what we paid last jan/summer its anyone's guess really. I'm not sure whether the o.p asks about what we expect to see happen or what we want to see happen. For me theres a difference between the two given how things have gone.

EXPECTED OUT:
Aurelio
Maxi
Spearing
Aquilani
Cole

EXPECTED IN:
Isla
D.Bent
A.Dominguez
W.Zaha

What I want to see

out:
Carragher
Aurelio
Shelvey
Adam
J.Cole
Kuyt

in:
-A.Pato (was on the verge of joining PSG before he rejected them. Milan are desperate to get rid mainly because of hi injury record and him not getting along with Ibrahimovic. He's a gamble but at 20-25mill he represents excellent value for money if we can get him on the pitch. They always rush him back and their home pitch is a disaster. With a proper medical and playing in better grounds he could become a top forward. Cant see many others (Spurs aside) being interested in him atm and it could be now or never as far as hes concerned. Other names in the same position: Pazzini, Falcao, Loic Remy, Carlos Tevez, G.Rossi

-Krasic (another one who was on the verge of leaving in Jan. He has been frozen out of the Juventus lineup having rejected a loan move to Tottenham and seems to be on his way out in the summer. Zenit are interested and I'm sure not many top clubs would be in for him. No doubting his quality though. Other options: Cazorla, N.Gaitan,

not too bothered about the other squad players but we could probably do with a decent defender and a decent central midfielder especially if we let go of Aquilani as expected.

-J.Hoilet (bosman)
-Chivu/ W.Samuel (bosman)
-Montolivio (bosman)
-C. Pizzaro (bosman, excellent record even this year)

If Kuyt departs for more first team opportunities then his replacement should be Luuk De Jong similar
work ethic and a very good striker , midfield I would opt for the brilliance of Marco Reus ,or maybe
Roma's Miralem Pjanic both exciting young talents .

I think we could still attract someone close to that calibre of player but we would have to a) pay high wages and b) show some signs that we genuinely want CL football again. I'm not sure how the high wages fit in with FSG's moneyball policy but we need to get more quality in the squad asap.

OUT - Aurelio, Jones, Carragher, Spearing, Adam, Kuyt, Darby, Maxi, Henderson and Doni.

IN - Luuk De Jong, Patricio Rodriguez, Thiago Alcantara, Jano Ananidze and Erick Torres.

Those players wouldn't cost much, and as they are young, may not have a problem playing for a team without Champions League. Apparently we've bought a youth striker from Mexico as well?

Every player in bold should be sold:

1. Jones
2. Johnson
3. Enrique
5. Agger
6. Aurelio
7. Suarez
8. Gerrard
9. Carroll
11. Maxi
14. Henderson
16. Coates
18. Kuyt
19. Downing
20. Spearing
21. Lucas
22. D Wilson
23. Carragher
25. Reina
26. Adam
30. Suso
31. Sterling
32. Doni
33. Shelvey
34. Kelly
35. Coady
36. Eccleston
37. Skrtel
38. Flanagan
39. Bellamy
47. Wisdom
49. Robinson
- Amoo
- Aquilani
- J Cole
- Darby
- Gulacsi
- Pacheco

Obviously we need a striker, maybe even two because Suarez and Carroll isn’t enough. A fox in the box player like Michael Owen would be ideal as Suarez likes to drop deep (or maybe Kenny likes Suarez to drop deep). Someone with a good record over a couple of years.

We need a creative midfielder and a defensive midfielder — someone who can play alongside Lucas. Midfield is one of our weakest positions at the moment, we badly need to get some proven quality in there come summer.

We need another central defender, is Danny Wilson a potential sell?

Ideally we should have two players for each position, so:

GK
Reina
Doni
Jones

RB
Flanagan
Kelly
Johnson

CB
Coates
Agger
Skrtel
?

LB
Enrique
Robinson
?

RM
?
?

CM
Gerrard
Henderson
Shelvey
Lucas
Coady

LM
Downing
Bellamy

CF
Suarez
Carroll
Pacheco

It seems everyone has played football manager too much.
There won't be another 100 million spending spree that's for sure.
And good players currently in CL team will not come for europa league football, stop dreaming...  :no
Should be more concerned keeping the players Rafa brought to the team that actucally has CL quality, cause Kenny sure hasn't bought any...

well seems we have gone down the moneyball route we will be specifically looking for players that can help us -
1) win 40 headers in a game
2) put 30 crosses in
3) win the ball back 12 times or more in the opposition third
when all those things happen in a game apparently the stats show the team hardly ever loses.
thats our philosophy now.

It doesn't matter if we sign this or that player as long as the players deteriorate in training and lose skills and fitness while employed by Liverpool and is being put out with no gameplan and no strategy and nonsense tactics.

Better trainers and managers will improve the results from the current players and that should be first priority.

The people wanting certain players gone but keeping Henderson and Andy? Is because they have been so shitty that no one wants them?

I'd replace both of them with Djimi Traore's crappier cousins if I could.
