Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Sahin lad wake the Fck up ,surely the Bondesliga MVP not so long ago is capable of much more. yes scored some goals but we need leadership in the midfield.
Plays way too safe and comfertable.

Sahin looks good but if he isnt going to sign a permanent contract i cant see what he is giving us.

We have

Gerrard
Sahin
Allen
Lucas
Henderson
Shelvey

6 Central midfielders all really hoping to start. 4 of which will be expecting to start.

When lucas gets back were going to have Allen Gerrard Lucas Sahin really all vying for the 3 places unless Stevie Gets pushed further forward

Dont really rate Sahin after watching him. Think he doesnt offer us much and at the expence of either Lucas Allen or Gerrard when All is fully fit i wouldnt start Sahin.

Just my opinion

he hasnt been as influential as i thought he would be but i suppose it was a bit unrealistic to expect him to arrive here and start dictating games straight away.
for a start he spent most of last season injured and he wouldnt be the first player to struggle to adapt to the physicality and pace of the prem. rodgers is playing him as an attacking midfielder as well which isnt his natural position and that cant help either.
he has played really well in a couple games though (west brom, norwich etc) and chipped in with one or two goals so it`s not like he hasnt contributed, i think it`s just that people were expecting more.
the games he really seems to struggle in are the high tempo physical clashes against the likes of everton and stoke, apart from those types of games he`s done alright.
once he gets used to the prem i think he`ll be a top player, he`s only 23 so he`s still improving and if we get the chance to sign him on a permanent deal for anything around £15m i would bite madrids hand off.
i would build our team around a midfield of lucas, allen, sahin and suso, in 3 or 4 years that will be some midfield imo.

I Hope Rodgers plays Sahin alongside Lucas against Fulham ,I'm intrigued to see if there's any sign of a  partnership' there.

I was disappointed he never got on yesterday, BR stated that both Sterling and Allen needed a rest well, i don't think 50 - 60 mins is much of a rest and while I can understand the replacement of Suso with Sterling as Asaidi wasn't on the bench I cannot understand why both Allen and Carra came on when the game was effectively won. what could he learn from either of these subs when as RBG said it would have been good to see sahin alongside lucas or just maybe he didn't want to see the team carrying on and performing without Allen on the pitch as they had been doing all game.

darren lewis is claiming rodgers is going to try and pull the plug on his deal if its possible.

he is obviously a quality player but he is deffo struggling to come to terms with the pace and physicality of the prem.
playing nuri against the stoke`s and everton`s is as good as being down to 10 men.

real conned us with this deal and they probably will hold us to it till the end of the season so were stuck with him.
absolutely miffed that he isnt being played especially against the less physical sides.
up until this point though he has proven to be a serious waste of 5 million quid

I was expecting much more out of him but I would like for him to get another try or two before giving up on him. He gets pushed off the ball way to easily to work in our team.
