Apologies Boxscarf I meant Sahin could be like Alonso was first season with us not Madrid.

Wenger wanting him permanently just reinforces the view that Sahin is top quality and you can't blame him for wanting that agreement in place. But even as a loan, he will bring something to our side that is really needed. Arsenal's loss is our gain IMO.

I wonder if our players can take advantage of Sahin's through passes from the deep though... Last time gerrard, Torres and alonso clicked pretty well. Now Gerrard is older and Suarez is not the type of player that plays on the shoulders of defenders...

Even if we fail to get him to stay after this season i think its win win for us.

Sahin does well for us and we get 4th,

1. He may want to stay.

2. Real want him back but as alonso wont sign a new contract.

3. Alonso comes home.

Now all we need is a striker who can put the ball away

in tonights echo he says liverpool is exactly what people told him it would be like, he says it`s a massive club with a great history and he`s enjoying being here. he`s trained with the team for the past 3 days and he`s fitted into the playing style really well, he just hopes he can take take his form on the training pitches at melwood onto the pitch at anfield on sunday.
the article says it`s unlikely that he`ll stay beyond a season because madrid want him back but when he was asked about the prospect of staying permanently he said who knows what will happen? anything can happen in football

He won't stay, IMO.
He signed for RM, had a shyte first year, but will want to prove he's worth it in a magnificent team such as that.
We've 16 pages on the guy and he hasn't kicked a ball in anger yet!
Love it....

Echo say his loan fee was only £1.6m and we have first refusal on him. Good deal for me.

Nuri Sahin has hit out at claims he snubbed Arsenal to join Liverpool to earn more money.

ironically, Sahin could make his Reds debut against the Gunners at Anfield on Sunday.

And he says he signed for them on a season-long loan from Real Madrid because he felt it was the best chance of reigniting his career.

Sahin, voted the Bundesliga’s best player with Borussia Dortmund in 2010-11, said: “You don’t know me very well if you think I would go anywhere for money.

“If it was about money, I wouldn’t be here.

"I had a lot of offers that would have allowed me to earn three times as much as I will earn here.

“I don’t care about money. I know that I will earn a lot of money in my career, if everything goes well.

“The only reason I’m here is that I know I can play football here. I have a manager who trusts me and the way I play, and that I’m at a huge club.”

The Turkey midfielder claimed he is a big fan of Brendan Rodgers’ football philosophy and said the Irishman reminds him of his old Dortmund boss, Jurgen Klopp.

“We were successful at Dortmund because we were a team,” said Sahin. “In the first season under Klopp we were sixth, then fifth.

“Then we were champions and last season Dortmund did it again.

“That’s because we had a long-term project. Brendan wants to improve Liverpool the same way and I think there will only be one way under him and that is up.”
