Then again our only excuse for not winning the league is we don't buy world class players year after year. If we spend that much on two players this summer, that's a lot of money for the last two years and our excuse is invalid :D

I feel like Van der vaart is too similar to Gerrard, however if we are looking for a better attacking option on the right, Van der vaart could play the attacking winger option Kuyt seems to have taken up and would be able to switch with gerrard back and forth. Alves would be an exciting prospect. Barry seems to be coming in, and although I love Xabi, to favour the system I am thinking of, Barry would suit it better.

Babel playing behind Gerrard? I don't think Babel can tackle the ball too well.

A lot of people have mentioned Lahm - but I read he's just signed a new 3 year contract with Bayern

Did anyone see Mirko Vucinic's goal against Catania? He could make a fantastic winger for Liverpool.

Edit: Idk, maybe he's a better partner for Torres than a winger.
